I expect the worst so I prepare for the worst and when the worst happens, I'm ready.

"Perhaps." he agreed slowly.
He stepped away from her, still eyeing the opening of the alleyway. There was still nothing that could cause them any harm. He let out a slow breath before looking to Elizabeth. She had at least handle that well enough. She hadn't screamed or panicked like most women in her situation might have done. Which was a relief. He didn't think he could have handled it if she did get hysterical over their non-existent danger.
"Might be best if we tally on home." he said.

As John had stepped away from her, Elizabeth sighed in relief. When he stamped the situation as safe enough to get out of their hiding point then it had to be safe for real. Nodding to his statement Eliza followed him out of the ally while quickly getting to hug herself by holding her arms tight to her torso. While they waited it surely had gotten quite cold for her taste. Or had she just not noticed it before? "Should we clean up before we go?"

"It's just bottles." Constantine said. "No one's going to get upset if we were here. Only if we were here and witnessed somethin'."
That was Constantine's fear. That they would be witnesses to murder, either strong armed into being silent or physically silenced to keep them from running their mouths. He could be quiet. He knew how to keep his mouth shut and his head down in order to keep alive the next day. Elizabeth was a talker. She wrote her little tell alls about his sex life. What would keep her from writing a tell all about a murder if she witnessed one?

At his last sentence Elizabeth just looked at him. Constantine probably new better than any person that she very well might even dare to wish for witnessing a crime for the sake of her books. However they both new that this surely was far from a wise idea. Sure, Eliza knew very well to stay verbally silent at times but her books were something different and there was always a surrounding possibility of people finding out about what people her stories were actually based on.
Biting her lip Eliza quickly stepped forward to get out of the ship graveyard and back to the apartement as fast as her feet would let her. Definitely she didn´t want to risk to doom herself when she had a chance to prevent it and not to mention that she didn´t want to bring John in a bad situation either. That surely would be the worst for her. Luckily though soon enough the two of them would arrive at home save and sound and surely ready to get some nice meal and head to sleep for the day.
