The streets were silent, they always seemed to be at this time of night. It was soon interrupted by the sound of a door opening and a man yelling. " See you bright and early tomorrow! " The other man with a black fedora holding the door, chuckled as if it was a joke, " Yeah, we'll see. " Laughter started after the remark and then was silenced as the door shut behind him. Vincent just got done with a new crime scene that came up, making him stay at work longer than he should. Just another problem to add to his collection.
It was about a little after 10, and he started to walk through the empty streets, going to a restaurant a little ways away from his work. He didn't mind the walk, knowing how hungry he was. You could almost hear his stomach growl as he gently placed a hand on his stomach. It ached, causing him to cringe some, followed by an aggravated sigh.
He lifted his fedora up and slicked his ash brown hair back down, sitting his fedora back on his head as he continued to walk through the streets. He peaked around at his surroundings, seeing a flickering street light and a group of men walking by on the opposite side of the street. They seemed to have been drinking by their walking and the way they were talking, laughing. He scoffed and rolled his eyes, " Idiots. " He mumbled. Then, payed his attention back towards where he was walking. He wasn't even half way there yet, but nothing was stopping him.

Al had been strolling through the town that night, looking for his next targets. It was full of potential drunks and aloof party goers. He seemed uninterested in all of them though, he only put his effort towards the people he thought had a decent amount of cash on them. He saw a man with a fedora across the street. He thought to himself, maybe him, he has that flashy look about him. He watched a group of drunks walk by, they were mumbling something with a slight hint of an insult towards the man calling him "flashy"...
It made Al become intrigued, "Flashy, huh?" Al lit up also and then smiled to himself, "I knew I had great senses!" He boasted about himself. Al grinned and thought to himself, Just the kind of man I am looking for. He started making his way over to the other street and walked behind the man for some. He took in his features and what he was wearing. His suit looked expensive and very well put together. In all this man had to be loaded. Aladdin fixed his cap and put on a flashy smile and walked over to the man stopping him, "Hello, fella! Mind if I tag along for a little?" He said in a teasing way.

Vincent continued to walk the same street, dreading how much farther he had to go to get some food. He was not the kind to skip food even for work purposes and when he did, he had a bad attitude until he got some. He groaned some as his stomach was still aching.. Then, he had the sense like someone was watching him, he didn't look back to find out, he was to determined to get to the restaurant. Slight footsteps started behind him but, he still didn't look back, he just wasn't in the mood or to even care.
Then, he saw a boy walk for a slight second beside him, then he went in front of him, stopping him in his tracks. He was dusty and his clothes seemed a little worn out.. His big brown eyes stared at him with a devilish smile, everything about him looked like he was up to no good.. " Hello, fella! Mind if I tag along for a little? " He raised an eyebrow. looking him up and down, studying him more. He seemed like a ' get on your nerves ' type of guy and right now, he had no time for people like him or the patience. " No, I don't know you. " He walked around him and kept treading on to his destined location. Peaking back at him, rolling his eyes and then kept his eyes towards the sidewalk once again.
Vincent was never a people person. He always liked to be by himself, mostly because he always has bad experiences with the people he meets and grows close to.

Al was shocked and couldn't believe he came off so cold. He took a step back and watched him walk on. It only made him more intrigued and determined now. He watched his eye roll, causing Al's mouth to drop. He thought to himself, I always had a way when people played hard to get. Al continued to walk behind him and caught up to him, he still had his grin on his face. He began to walk beside him once more and said, "Ooo, that's a little cold of you dont'cha think?" He tilted his head, biting his tongue a little, and smiling big. He then got a little closer to him and said, "How about I show you a short cut to a really good joint to get some food?" He nudged him with his elbow, raising an eyebrow. Al wasn't the type to give up easily, or leave him alone once he knew he was a good target. Al questioned what he might do employment wise. He noticed a fancy watch on his wrist and knew that is what he was going to go for. He peaked up at his fedora as well, Maybe the hat too just for a little somethin' extra. Al came out of his thoughts and said, "So, what is it gonna be, Mr. Cold?" Al kept waking with him and fiddled with his fingers some and then stretched. He winked at him, playfully to throw him off a little bit. The thought and action made Al smile at him.

Vincent kept a steady pace as he could see, he still had a ways to go. He placed a hand on his stomach again, it was getting to a point where he thought his stomach was eating itself. He went on walking, trying to blow off the pain. Then, the same footsteps started to come up to him again, he knew it was the boy he left behind. He didn't even look at him as the boy was beside him, " Ooo, that's a little cold of you dont'cha think? " Ignoring him, he kept going, feeling him get closer, invading his personal space. But, he became curious as he mentioned a short cut to food. ' Should I really trust this kid?, ' He thought to himself. All he knew, he could be crazy.
He sighed softly and peaked at him, hearing him once more. Hearing what he called him, ' Mr. Cold? Really? ' He stared at him. At this point, he just wanted some food. He didn't care what or where. He looked at the faces he was teasing at him with, and just kept a straight face. This kid was odd but, very happy. It made him wonder what was going on in his head.. He just stopped and then turned towards him, staring down at him.. This was unlike him to trust a stranger or even acknowledge one, but he was out of options. " Alright, kid. Show me this place. " Waiting for the kid to lead the way to this joint.

Al watched him and knew he was considering it. He thought to himself and hoped, Come on, just say yes. I hear your stomach. Al waited for his answer in anticipation and when he heard it his eyes lit up. He smiled big and got even a little more cocky from his victory. She slid over to him, invading his space even more, chuckling deviously and nudged him once more. He then motioned for him to follow and said, "Follow me, Mr.- Wait, Mr.Grumpy, do you have a name?" Al, grinned because of the nickname he bestowed upon him. He was never going to get him to stop saying it either. It was just how he was, a young, stubborn brat. Al, raised an eyebrow waiting for a response. While he was waiting he turned around on his heel, starting to walk across the street down and alleyway.
Al, turned to him and said, "It's gonna be right up here." Al, did know this city like the back of his hand. He was always trying to find new escape routes whenever he messed with anyone. He was always known for getting into trouble. He had a lot of time to find all of these considered how long he had lived here. He had basically lived here his whole life and could only wonder if this man was new. He might be? He was going such a long way to get to a restaurant. Everyone in town knew the shortcut from this street. then started to run his hand against the brick wall in the alleyway. He trailed his fingers across it and smiled to himself. He was easily entertained but it also distracted others which was always better for him. He peaked over his shoulder at him for a moment and then continued to look ahead of him. It was a source of entertainment for him to get under people's skin. He wanted to know what made them tick. He then continued humming while they continued to walk.

Vincent watched the kid as he seemed like he won something, he raised an eyebrow at the kid. ' Maybe this was a bad idea. ' He thought. He shrugged slightly, it was to late now. as far as he knew... he was just closer to food. He watched the kid as he got closer to him, which made Vincent step away. " Vincent, Vincent Roccini. " He shook his head at the nicknames he kept giving him. This boy was quite childish, but a slight smile came to his face.
He watched the kid as he started to lead the way. He slowly followed behind him. He peaked up as he said that it was just right up this way. Vincent has been away from Gatsberry for a couple years now, so he lost his touch with the city. Ever since he wanted to transfer back here, he acts like he has never been here before. He watched his feet walk, right foot in front of the other. Then, he peaked up at the kid.
He seemed to know this place well, which made him think. ' Hopefully this kid isn't a complete psycho.' He rolled his eyes to the thought, and peaked at him once more, seeing the kid look at him with those big brown eyes once more. He looked away, ignoring it and looked up at the big brick buildings they were walking between. This place needed a makeover. Everywhere he walked or look, it was like a dump. He listened and heard humming, he peaked back at the kid. Listening to him hum as he followed behind him.

Al walked around the corner of the alleyway and was now on the street sidewalk again. He looked down the street and saw restaurant and then smiled back at him and said, "See, it's right over there, Vincey!" He smiled big again and continued to walk to the restaurant and said, "You know, mister... You don't seem like a real people person, hm?" Al, asked, raising an eyebrow, questioning him. He watched him and Vincent came off so guarded. Did something happen to him to make him this way? Is it because of his job? There has to be a reason? It may just be how he is though, it isn't uncommon for people being standoffish in Gatsberry. It only makes Al more interested in them, though. His main hobby is making someone tick and know them truly.
He got to the restaurant and held the door open for him smiling. He walked right over to a spot open at the high top chair area and sat there. Al took it upon himself to invite himself to dinner with him. He was bored and Vincey was his only source of entertainment at the moment. He saw a waitress heading over to him and he smiled to her and said, "Can I have the house pasta." Al always loved the pasta there. It was his favorite meal to get. Whenever he had spare change he was stop by to grab some. Al raised his eyebrows and grinned at the waitress leaning in some and whispering something. He wooed her, like he usually did with women, and then turned to Vince and said, "So, what are you having?" Al, playfully raised an eyebrow and made a questioning face.

Vincent kept his pace behind him and felt relieved as they were back on the sidewalk instead of in such a tight space. He heard the boy, looking up seeing the restaurant. Finally, just what he wanted. He smiled to himself, already smelling the aroma of food. ' You know, mister... You don't seem like a real people person, hm? ' He was right, he wasn't. He always kept his guard up and stayed by himself for multiple reasons. He peaked at him, " People are cruel, its best to stay by yourself. Instead of worrying about who cares about you and who really doesn't. " He got aggravated just thinking about it, but as they got to the door. He watched the kid open the door for him and couldn't help but smirk. Shaking his head, he walked inside and looked around.
It was a cute little restaurant, not what he would usually go to but, why not try new things. He watched the kid go to the high tops and saw he wanted him to join. He slowly walked to where he was and sat beside him. He looked down and saw the menu, so many choices. He looked through them, and couldn't decide. He felt the waitress come up and heard the kid order. ' Can I have the house pasta? ' Pasta sounds good, really good. Vincent peaked at the kid and saw him whispering to her, causing her to giggle. He must be smooth with women, he ignored it and ordered, " I'll have what he's having, and bring out a basket of garlic bread also. " His stomach growled just at him saying it. The waitress wrote it down and nodded, then walked off to put it in. Vincent peaked back at the kid, " I never got your name. " He tilted his head some as he waited for him to respond.

Al, listened to what he wanted and smiled a little bit. He peaked at the waitress and then waved to her some, smiling as she walked away. Al turned his attention back to Vincent, "I like garlic bread to." He quickly smiled and then the smile faded back to a plain face. He seemed slightly unamused because of how hard it was to get Vincent to crack. He peaked over at him, listening to his question, "Oh, my name is Al Cellini." He usually didn't tell his name because of his record of how much he got into trouble. It seemed like he was going to have to let his guard down too, if he was going to get him to open up some.
Al bit his lip some, looking up at the ceiling and was thinking about what he said. People are cruel, its best to stay by yourself. Instead of worrying about who cares about you and who really doesn't. It managed to get to Al and make him wonder why he was so hurt. Was he done wrong before or multiple times? He shouldn't be really talking considering he was planning to steal from him. Al looked back over at Vincent and leaned in, "I don't think that is all entirely true." Al raised took a long sigh and had a change of heart. Al then seemed a little frustrated.
He had a whole change of attitude and continued to say, "To prove my point, I was planning on robbing you. If you had kept quiet and kept to yourself I would've went through with it. Although, you said that. It made me think about you and who did you so wrong. Making me feel guilty." Al rested his head on his hand and was tapping the tabletop with his other hand. He seemed a little defeated - He gave his name up, revealing his status. He gave his plans up too - revealing why he didn't go through with it. In all, Al was a softy at heart. He couldn't help but reach out a hand if someone needed help. Al, was looking away from him still sulking because he didn't get anything out of tonight. He looked over at him and said, "So, proving my point I think you should share sometimes so people can grow to care about you." He mumbled it, still pouting over his failed night.

Vincent heard his name, smiling a little. ' Al, huh? ' Such a simple name. " Nice to meet you, Al. " He stared at him for a little and then peaked down, staring at his hands. Vincent had a bunch of scars on his hands, from all the cases he had to go to and look around for clues. Whether it was glass, nails or just plain not looking where he puts his hands. He studied them for some then heard Al speak, ' I don't think that is all entirely true. ' That caught him off guard a little, not really knowing what he was trying to say.
He watched him, seeing a mood change in body and voice. He listened to him reveal what he was really up to and why he was reveling it to him. Vincent knew something was up with the kid and once again, he was right. He saw Al pout and sighed at him. Of course, he steals for money. He doesn't seem like he has a place to call home or lots of things to call him. He felt sorry for him. He peaked at the wall and then back at his hands. ' So, proving my point I think you should share sometimes so people can grow to care about you. ' He peaked back at him and a slight smile appeared on his face, " You're right. I guess I just haven't met the right people yet. " He peaked at his watch. He had tons of these at home, he peaked back at the kid. I guess he was having a change of heart as well. He started to take it off and slid it to him. " Here, take it. Think of it as a thank you for helping me. You'll need it more than I do. " He smiled down at him again.
For the short time he has known this kid, he was starting to grow on him.
