Millie held her arm close to her and gleefully drifted down the sidewalk. She was now a working woman! She then stopped and dusted some some extra impurities from the cotton off one of her new dresses. Anna was always so thoughtful. Even all the way in Salina, she still is thinking about me... the girl playfully fiddled with the ribbon that surrounded her waistline. With the five dollars she had hidden in her undergarments, there was about a few more weeks of work left until she could fully pay Ms. Harris's rent and finagle her way out of a scolding or threat. There was some time left in the day until she absolutely had to go back to her room and get a good night's sleep. Perhaps she could get to know the city a little better than she had before. She clutched her cap and turned a corner. The first word that came to mind was shady. The lamp light wasn't hitting these areas and it looked rather sketchy. If she had to be honest, everything that wasn't familiar was sketchy. Millie heard some footsteps come from behind her and she turned around. (Dress here)

John was busy walking around around the block, mostly because word and Elizabeth was 'done' with, and all he could say in his mind was stupid his clients could really geat into his skin; they just don't listen sometimes or they just bother the day - lights out of him! Just as he walked around the block, he noticed he seemed to have entered the more 'dark and quiet places' it was fine for him since he came at this spot a lot, but he'd usually be alone. Well.... Until he noticed a female, she seemed 'sweet' how knew, and something gave him the, ' Little - Red - Riding - hood ' vibe, but he took a few steps behind her than rested against the post that the torch light was on, "Hello." He smirked, eyeing the female as she stopped.

"Hello", the figure appeared resting against a light post. From what she could glean in the darkness, it was a man. He had flowing bright blonde hair that reached the back of his neck. Now, that was a sight. Men with longer hair than below with bottoms of their ears was a rarity in Salina. Correction: men with long hair in general was a rarity from where she was from! He looked quite tone, but perhaps it was natural. There wasn't much physical labor going on in the city... as far as she had known.
"Hello, sir." Millie responded and curtsied. She quickly jerked straight up. She was talking to a stranger! This wasn't good at all! Especially since he was an older man. The possibilities of what he could do to her were possibly endless. "I'm terribly sorry, but I must be going... Ms. Harris can be strict when it comes to curfew."

John chuckled, looking at the girl. Adorable, just adorable! It was rare to see a 'cute' female since most of them were salacious bimbos, or that was just John's cynicism getting the best of him. And only the lord could differentiate that about him, "Wonderful t-" He was going to say his typical gentleman line 'wonderful to meet your aquatintance, dear' and a possible kiss on the hand since that was how he was taught and what - not. But that the girl said;
"I'm terribly sorry, but I must be going... Ms. Harris can be strict whan it comes to curfew."
John chuckled, the innocence the girl had was so sweet! John smirked, "I could come with you, after all the streerts at this time are full of drunk retardations at one point to the next." John said innocently, almost concerningky now that he thought about it, he wasn't actually going to lead her where she wanted to go. Probably the exact opposite, and Miss Harris? Did she mean Beatrice? If so than if she came a 'little' late, he highly thought the woman would mind if he was with the 'little girl'.

Millie stared at him for a while. Why was he laughing? Was it something about her outfit? Perhaps it was her hair. She pulled her cloche cap down some more in a feeble attempt to hide the abnormalities. Well, most of them anyway. At this point, there was no way she could change her small-town roots in this big city. She could listen closely on the accents that residents had and mimic that to disguise her uncouth-sounding drawl or lie about being from Chicago or Detroit, but they would get her nowhere.
"I could come with you," the blonde man offered to walk her back to the hotel. The blonde smiled at her. Or did he smirk? It was hard for her to tell which. "After all the streets at this time are full of drunk retardations at one point to the next." She couldn't disagree with him. A few times when she was coming home from work, she witnessed some in a less fortunate situation mug a young girl who had just come off the train. It was truly unsettling, for it was what Hildegarde had predicted would happen to her when she first set foot in Gatsberry. However, she was just grateful that it hadn't happened to her. The redhead nodded, for she would have liked some company.
She stepped out of the alleyway and back onto the sidewalk. Take your time, Millie. She probably wouldn't mind if you were about a minute or so late... "Ms. Harris might be asleep around this time, so I wouldn't mind you joining. We could talk... What's your name?"

John have a light smirk and leaned back on the torch light bar. The girls innocence was way to amusing to him, he walked up to her so she could have a better look at him, and took out a little flower from a bush and put it in the girls hair. "Well, don't you look lovely~" he said sweetly, letting out a wide smirk, which was noticeable at this point. But he highly doubted that anyone would actually bother him, since many people knew he was one of Korso's 'trusted - men' even though he secretly hated what Korso did and then it grew from that to the entire family at large, he seriously wondered why they could try doing better, that would help him gain some faith in them but nope! Here they were! Making this place a meek recipe for disaster after the partying was at its halt and it actually had to worry about something.

"Well, don't you look lovely~". The blonde man put a small flower in her hair. The girl pulled it out, put her hat back on, and got a better look at its droopy yellow petals. Her attention was then towards the bare spot among the flowery bush. The way he complimented her almost seemed... unsettling in a way. It was calculated... precise... almost planned in a sense. Millie looked back at him, still leaning against the light post. The smile on his face grew more to a smirk, almost predatory. She turned around and took a few steps towards the hotel where she was staying, then turned back.
"I'm sorry, but you never told me your name, sir. I did ask for it... Millicent Foster's mine. But people tend to call me Millie..."

John cocked an eyebrow at her taking the flower out, too bad he wasn't good at flower picking, now was he. And maybe his words were unsettling, like him wanting to mess around with the fragile new girl, maybe to put her through things she hadn't seen before, and whatever sociopathic thing that came into his lacklustre self conscious.
"I'm sorry, but you never told me your name, sir. I did ask for it... Millicent Foster's mine. But people tend to call me Millie..."
John smiled, he guessed since she said her name and nickname, he might as well say his name. Since he could already spot some fright in her, never talk to strangers at night in Gatsberry since that's when wolves were busy finding prey, "My names, John Diveriõ." He walked up to her, making himself way more visible.

Diveriõ... It sounded foreign... French perhaps... Was he an immigrant or were his parents from Europe? There were so many questions and not enough time to ask them. On the other hand, John had told her there was a little bit more time before Ms. Harris would get upset with her. The redhead sighed slightly and blushed. He was certainly a charming fellow, yet he seemed dangerous at the same time.
"It was very nice to meet you, Mister Diverio." Millie smiled slightly and took her hat off one last time. Although they had met for a while, it was growing to the point where she could finally trust him. "So... what do you do? Do you have any hobbies you enjoy?"
(Sorry. It's so short.)
