All I need is some Gin and my bat.

Post by Salvatore Ross on Jun 21, 2017 22:36:17 GMT -6
The party got more interesting as he stood there, drinking Pepsi. Salvatore peaked around staring at all the ladies and gents that were dancing, talking or getting a little tipsy. People always annoyed him, it didn't have to be much either. The way you looked, talked or even looked at him. You would just never see him with people - ever. Just the thought of it made him snort. It's hard for him to trust so, he gave up on the whole ' making friends ' thing. It was just something that didn't interest him enough. All he wanted was to find out more information. He needed to know who killed his parents, the hit off of his anger - his insanity. Even if he had to kill every cop in this whole city.
He got bored and decided to walk around a little, checking out the place more. Food was on every table: Deviled eggs, chicken salad, anything to set your hunger. He picked up an egg and ate it, ' Not bad. ' He peaked around, seeing the dance floor and the stage. How the singer was all dressed up nicely, loving the spotlight as the people in the crowd were staring. The band met up nicely with her singing. The dancers were electric, moving their bodies all around the dance floor. Even though he wasn't a people person, dancing was a thing he always liked to watch. He stood there for a second before moving on. He moved through a crowd of people, and saw a bar there. Alcohol was just what he needed. It always seemed to calm him, taking the mind off the world one sip at a time.
He moved around a couple more groups of people before getting a space at the bar, which relieved him some. He leaned against the table and snapped his fingers, getting the bartenders attention, " Give me a Gin Ricky. " Then, slid a bill to him, " Keep 'em coming. ". The man took it, starting to make it then, Salvatore turned around leaning against the counter, continuing to scan the party for anything interesting.
His eyes stopped in the direction of two older ladies, seeming to be going at it with each other. He raised an eyebrow, one was in a big fur coat, the other had very noticeable, hugely styled grey hair. Watching them caused him to chuckle a little. He peaked over and stopped some. One quite attractive doll seemed to catch his eye. She was in a white, sparkling dress with a fur shawl to finish it off nicely. Her hair was black, long and straight and her body was curved to perfection. A smirk appeared on his face. He hasn't had a girl catch his attention for a while, but she seemed to have caught it all. He looked her up and down, as he heard the clink of his drink being sat beside him, he grabbed it, taking a long sip as his eyes were still fixed on her. " I would pay money to see her on her knees. " Saying it aloud like no one was around him. He chuckled at the thought of it.

The wind was blowing through her hair as she was walking in the cold wind, and she was somewhat freezing, due to her wearing a suit like outfit with eyeglasses, without her jacket. As she felt herself freeze for a second, she started to run, trying to hold on to her suitcase, as she didn't want her work to fall out, including her camera. Perhaps some place was going to keep her warm throughout the night, as she felt the wind going across her skin and through her brunette hair. She felt tired and wanted to go home to her place, but, something caught her eye, it was some complex that was in the rich district and she took out her camera, hoping she could at least catch some shots for the newspaper company. She walked in, and saw that something did happen, but, didn't know the full details since she did get inside the building. It looked like one of those fancy parties that she seen in movies, but, this was real, reality. She saw a lot of people wearing a lot of fancy outfits, including dresses and suits, and she was a bit rich herself, so, she hoped that she would at least fit in with the crowd, even though she was awkward about meeting some new people. She then started to take some pictures of the party, since the paper required pictures of a recent event, and since it looked like everyone was in this place, so, photography in the place wasn't a bad idea in the end. After taking some screenshots, she decided to go to the bar and saw that there was a man somehow flirting with a young woman with dark hair, so, she scooted off and ordered herself a tequila with pineapple flavoring. She then sat down and looked around, blushing since she was a bit shy and this was a giant area, and event, so, she rather have people start the conversation than her going up to anyone.

Anita was so relieved when she turned to see her friend, Artemis, making her way over towards her and embracing her in a large hug.
"Artemis! Thank goodness you're here!" she squealed, hugging her back. "I haven't seen you in so long, how are you?" she continued, taking the hint at her rescuer's plan. She motioned for her friend to follow her away from the bar and over towards a corner of the room where she didn't feel quite so exposed, giving Phillip a quick 'Be right back, sugar!' before sneaking away.
Once out of earshot and view from all the flirtation happening around the bar, she breathed a sigh of relief, giving Artemis a smile. "I was as red as a tomato, wasn't I?" she asked timidly. She hated how jealous she got around other girls when they flirted with Phillip, but she just couldn't help it. Ever since he had helped her out a while ago, she had been starstruck by his looks. And even worse, he knew just how to make her heart pound louder than a drum and send her running for the hills for his amusement and her utter embarrassment.
Anita sighed, a slight pout on her face. This night wasn't exactly going according to her plans, but now that Artemis was here, perhaps her night could get better! Putting a brighter expression to her face, she giggled towards her companion as she took note around the room. "So many handsome men are in here, though!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling. "Who do you think they all are?"

Oh did she just.. There was no use denying that Miss De Vil had mentioned her acting career as merely radio shows. Although, Harold would have wanted to do some of those if he was still involved in her life. She could only imagine what other naive little girl he had seduced and given empty promises, or better yet, straight up lies about her career.
"I believe you're quite mistaken," the actress continued the facade of composure as one of her kind was wont to do. "I performed Chekov, Moliere," with every author, Harris circled around the modern 'marvel' that was Cruella De Vil. "D.H. Lawrence, Arthur Miller on multiple cases, and even Shakespeare and Marlowe. Shall I remind you of your 'greatest accomplishments' consisted of, Miss Close?"
(OOC: Sorry it's so short...))

Well, tha' was unexpected, Peter thought as Ray disappeared down the street. He had somehow managed to track them down, shoot at their heads, then force Peter to put all of the money he had snipped from the guy's wallet back in to his wallet that had been pitched out into the streets, all in less than five minutes. Tha' guy seems way too experienced wi' things, he mused. Part of what made Peter so successful as a thief was the fact most people didn't understand how his operation worked, nor were they aware or used to the very subtle signs that they were being pick-pocketed. They didn't know the back streets or the secret get-away routes; only someone who had lived that life usually knew how to get around like that. Interesting.Giving a smirk as he adjusted his suit that had so badly been torn from the jumping, shooting, and threatening, Peter glanced down at his soiled clothes. Lina was probably going to yell at him for ruining her handiwork, but quite frankly, she shouldn't really be surprised by this point. "Wha' a night, huh?" he said with a laugh, reaching into his pocket and pulling out more cash he had tucked away. "A' least I go' this much still." He flashed Al and Lacie a mischievous look and tucked it back inside his pocket. It was definitely a bummer about the rest of the cash, but hey! Leaving empty handed was more shameful, and at least he still had about $75 worth from random party guests. After all, more than half the people at that party weren't even related to the mafia but were rich citizens. But even if they weren't, it wasn't like Korso needed any of that money for himself. While his palace shown bright and fancy over the water, only a few yards away across a small strip of water was where he had grown up, alone and on the filthy streets. The irony, huh? he thought as he shrugged his shoulders amused. Except as he looked at Lacie, he realized a new problem: the girl was totally tipsy, and Al wasn't in all that great of shape yet still. "Looks li' we gotta dry ya two ou', hmm?" he said with a smirk as he turned his head towards Al. The guy seemed to have a place in mind, as he started to drag Lacie along with him. "I know the best place!" he exclaimed. "Want to join me?" Al looked back where Peter stood looking at him, his arms folded over his chest as he watched the hilarious scene. "Trust me! They won't mind a bit." He continued to assure them as he led the three of them drunkenly through the streets towards the Hotel Aquila. Peter laughed, not sure where they were going but enjoying the mystery of it all. "Go' a secret love yur takin' us to?" he teased as he followed behind Al. "Ya know they give discoun'ed rooms here for one nigh' stands. But I'm sure they'll give ya a pass afte' tha' failed attempt wi' Aria. Ya need i'." But Al didn't get to respond, as he suddenly stopped. He looked mighty sick, and Peter couldn't help but laugh. "Thi' is why ya go' banned from drinkin' the strong stuff," the redhead lectured, the hint of a smirk on his face. This night definitely wasn't over with the crazy just yet! [adventures continue here]

Charlotte smiled but watched as Millie's face turned to a frown. She gave the girl a sad curious look. Something about her home upset her. The food was delivered and Charlotte took a sip of her soup before looking at the girl a little more seriously. "Darling you don't have to call me Miss. Just Charlotte is fine." She patted the girls knee kindly. "I'm not blind dear. I can see that something about your home makes you unhappy. But you don't have to tell me. Everyone has a right to their privacy." Charlotte said soothingly.
The two at a bit more of their dinner. Charlotte looked up and spotted her new driver Dean. She needed to apologize to him. "Millie Dear I need to go speak to someone and then go back stage to get ready for my next set. Order whatever you'd like it's on the house." She patted the younger girls cheek.
"I'm sorry... Charlotte..." The redhead looked down as her steak and baked potato were presented in front of her. It was much too expensive for her tastes. Some bread would have satisfied her nicely. Nevertheless, she took the silverware and cut into the steak. Some juices seeped from the meat and onto the plate as she put the small piece into her mouth. It was tender, almost what she'd expect from a city steak. She hummed slightly, savoring the tastes of the steak and potato. "Thank you for the dinner. I'll... I'll do anything to make it up to you." Millie smiled awkwardly and went back to her dinner. About the time she was done, Charlotte was up and leaving to see someone else. She thanked her again as watched her as she went to see the rugged looking man. Truly, she was perfect. At the bar, she spotted a familiar blonde shooting down shot after shot. "Hollie?" she asked her self as she stood up and got closer to her. "Hollie!" Millicent sat in the stool next to her and put a hand on her shoulder. "I can't believe you made it! Are you alright? Was work alright? I hope no one was too rough with you."

------ Korso led them to the ballroom and had his men yank some drunks from the bar to clear three seats for them. He tapped his finger on the wooden bar counter and was instantly greeted by a bar maiden. He ordered himself a Manhattan and asked Aurora and John to order whatever they liked. In the corner of his eye was Salvatore, sipping another drink at the end of the bar. He flagged the bar maiden's attention back to him so he could inquire about the man's drink. When he learned it was a Pepsi, Korso frowned, almost feeling insulted. " If he orders another goddamn Pepsi, cut'em off." He never understood the fasicnation towards sugary drinks, but their rising popularity was a possible danger to the bootleg market. Why'd we even order that crap?
With a sigh, Korso turned to the dance floor and finally noticed Aria on the opposite side of the room, conversating with several young men. His instincts told him to bulldoze a path across the dance floor to grab her, and get Elias to help him interrogate the men, but he saw this as an opportunity to set his plan into motion. He tapped his knuckles against John's arm, directing his attention towards Aria. "What'cha think, Jonny Boy?" he asked with a proud smile. "Beauty certainly runs in the family, doesn't it?"His drink arrived, and he took it with glee. The liquid gave him a satisfying burn that trickled through his body. Now he finally felt more unwined, ready to spring into action. "I just recently started to let her date, ya know. But her heritage, and attitude for that matter, could attract the wrong kind of attention, ya feel me?" Another sip of his drink, another sight of a man approaching his daughter. "I think she could use a good man. Someone I could trust." He nudged his friend. "What'cha think, pal, you wanna stay single an' keep bonin' broads for the rest of yer life? Or, have yourself a good woman, an' gain yourself a good family?" Korso laid his arm over John's shoulder with a confident smirk, awaiting his friend's expected answer. John chuckled, men wanting to catch some action by drunk ladies, typical, John thought with little thought to be quite frank. Than as the went to their seat, getting greeted by the bar maid, John smirked. She was eye - catching, John smirked and said, "Crème D'Infame, dear." He loved rich alchol, better than the overly saturated and honestly boring taste of an average alcoholic beverage. John smirked amusingly, seeing Korso upset was so comforting inside. He chuckled, oh Korso, Sugar is an addictive compound which is tricky to resist for most people, okay dimbat? John loved to have those menacing thoughts, atleast no one could read in his mind, right? John looked over Aria with a warm hearted grin, he knew Korso would've probably dozed her out of the group of rich men, because he couldn't live a little and his ' protective - fatherly - instinct ' but his attention on her stayed more as Korso directed it and he looked at her with another warm some and soft gaze, "She's a feisty one alright, and that definitely won't help her in the long run. After all, who knows whatever scoundrel might sweep her off her feet and she'll support that person, who might as well be a threat to you. Definitely feel ya'." He smirked, acting skills were on the rise! He honestly had no idea how he pulled that off, but he didn't care. He had worse plans, "I guess, I've been a bachelor too long for comfort, besides every man needs to settle down. And good women are hard to find, and you offering one is just a dream come true! Thanks big K." He said in a ripe optimistic voice, one way to easily destroy the family from the inside, piece of cake! Now only time would tell.

She didn't like too much Pepsi but she didn't mind if anyone drank a lot, it was a party right? So gorging was normal, granted it would end amazingly the next day, like a hangover but it was normal here, right? "Crème D'Infame, dear."
Aurora stared, that drink wasn't the cheapest, but of course John was a rich man. It would've been affordable. Just as they got the drink, Aurora took a glass, starting to sip as she started to drink, looking like she wasn't listening to them, her mind carefully read into every word: "I think she could use a good man. She wasn't attracted to John per say, but couldn't a man like him, EASILY get a rich woman with grace? Her mind thought, with morbid curiosity, but she shrugged it and gave a bright warm smile, "Oooh, I'm sure he'd be great match. He might tame her down a notch', that would come to benefit." That was true to a degree, she already noticed that John had a deceiving attitude that could calm the females attitude but, in what way?

Artemis couldn't help but smile at how quickly Anita recovered. That was acting for you. Artemis wasn't entirely sure what had gotten Anita so riled up, but she could take a guess. With a pleasant smile and quick nod at the other members of the party, she followed Anita away from the bar. At Anita's admission of looking like a tomato, Artemis nodded her head. "That's putting it mildly." She remarked, lightly patting Anita's head for comfort. "I haven't seen you that embarrassed in a while. What happened? Someone start flirting with Phil?" Getting Anita riled up was something that anyone could do, but getting her as red as a tomato? That was a rare occurrence. It was times like these she often forgot her friend was younger than herself, not that she minded of course. She loved Anita dearly and the two were very close friends. A laugh bubbled up when she saw her pouting, it didn't help any when Anita's expression suddenly brightened. "I'd say more than half of them are too old for us." she paused taking in the occupants of the room. "There was a nice looking red head who I'd asked to dance, but sadly" she placed a hand to her forehead in a mock swoon. "he was dragged away. If he's smart he won't come back in." She said wryly. "But I suppose a lot of the handsome men around here have some influence with the mob. That or they do something else that makes them rich enough to attend this."

Post by Cruella de Vil on Jun 22, 2017 9:02:22 GMT -6
Cruella shook her head, her fingers stroking the fur from her pelt while she eyed Beatrice, her expression turning into a scowl in firm contrast against her bitter rival. She truly felt annoyed and disrespected by this woman, and all the chances she could get to bring their feud up a notch were definitely not to be wasted. She would be damned if this petulant woman was to get the last laugh on her. The only ones she'd give in against were those as good or greater than her, and those did not exist.
Taking a deep puff out of her smoke, Cruella narrowed her eyes at Beatrice once more, expelling her usual green smoke around the hotel owner's neck before she took a step back; slowly starting to smile again. "Oh, but my dear, innocent Beatrice. Just because you take the stage, it does not mean you own the stage. There's a reason some people last and others, well...stay in the papers." she let out, shrugging while adopting a more condescending stance towards her rival.
Her head tilting to the side, Cruella could not help but notice a young female seemingly focused on her and Beatrice. The tan skinned lady seemed to be foreign, yet had an aura of attractive in her. For sure, she was holding something really good, looks wise. With some polishing she could b-
Snapping back to reality, Cruella remember where her attention should be focused in. They seemed to already have an audience, so Cruella would definitely have to come out on top. "Truly, though, what do you expect to gain from this? This is a party, I'm not giving you an autograph, darling."

Not only did she eat it off his fork, she offered her some of his steak off of her fork. He grinned. At least she would play along. Even if there was a dainty blush on her cheeks that she tried to play off with a smirk. He took a bite of hers. It was good. Korso sure knew what he was doing when hiring a caterer. The food was positively sinful but so was the whole damn city so it looked like it only fit. A waiter passed by and John paused him to request a fifth of scotch. He needed something better than lemon water to get him through the night.
"Well, luv, we ate, we drank," he said after their meal was finished. "Now what would you like to do?"
Constantine wasn't the type to mingle. He made small talk about as well as he could cook - not well at all considering Elizabeth took over that role very quickly. Now if he wanted to be charming, talk someone into bed, he could, but asking about feelings and personal preferences or getting to know people, was all very tedious. One night stands were easier. The longest anyone had ever stuck around with him was Elizabeth and she hadn't left yet.

Chel continued to watch the battle go on. It seemed odd to her how people would start something like this, in the middle of this event, even when people were watching too! She tilted her head and listen to Ms.H and widened her eyes. She began to become a little shocked, she thought it was going to be over with. She hoped that it wouldn't end soon, though. She peaked back over at Cruella, noticing she had her attention for a moment. She stared at her, hoping she would keep going. She usually didn't encourage this kind of thing but it seemed different. Chel thought to herself, They went after each other, will claws out.
She wrapped her shawl around her, trying cover her up a little, still examining the situation. She heard what Cruella had said and widened her eyes even more. She began to chuckle because she couldn't hold it in. This whole scene was intense but overall comical. She looked down and brought up a hand to her face trying to play it off but just couldn't. She had never been good in intense situation, she has a nervous laugh too and it never made these situations better. She thought to herself, I need to pull it together or I could be sleeping outside after this.

Edna said: Ray looked up at the polite lady asking if he was ok. He smiled politely. "I'm fine, thank you. I escorted the two boys responsible out, gave them a bit of a talk and cleaned up." He shook her hand smiling most woman preferred the hand kiss, Aria Mercello being an exception and now this Eddie woman.
"I'm Raymond Jackson. But you can call me Ray." He introduced himself. "So how long have you been in Gatsberry?" He asked curiously. "I myself have been here a few months." He knew it was better to give a little information when asking for some. She was polite, well dressed but preferred a handshake. She was not a classic woman in that sense, and it would be interesting to see how.

Or, have yourself a good woman, an' gain yourself a good family?" After all, who knows whatever scoundrel might sweep her off her feet and she'll support that person, who might as well be a threat to you. Definitely feel ya'."Korso nodded in agreement. "This town's been gettin' too big Jonny. It's makin' me a little concerned about my baby girl." He scanned the crowd, eyeing the fair-skinned, well dressed young men that dominated the dance floor. "The boys these days, I can't read'em. They're not tough like how we were, that's for sure." He gleefully stared at John through the corner of his eyes. "You on the other hand; that youthful lookin' mug of yours doesn't fool me. I know you can be a tough guy when ya want to be, an' I know you got my back. So how about it...son?"
His grip on John's shoulder tightened as he replied: "I guess, I've been a bachelor too long for comfort, besides every man needs to settle down. And good women are hard to find, and you offering one is just a dream come true! Thanks big K."
Korso smiled, but an inner rage was starting to boil. "That's good...but I have one condition," he said, wagging his finger, "Opportunities like this come once in a blue moon. I'm givin' you more than just my blessing, I'm givin' you a place in my family's legacy...so..." He pulled John closer to where he could whisper in his ear: "I expect loyalty an' respect...towards me...an' my little girl." With a deep breath through his nose, Korso continued, "Ya better keep that pecker of yers on ice, Jonny boy, or else I'll have it iced myself." The smile was gone, and his eyes, burning like a fierce lion, stared John in the face. After what seemed like an eternity, the smile returned, and Korso was soon patting John's back like he was his best chum. "You got a lot of work ahead of ya. Why don't ya go say hello to her, eh? Meanwhile I'll be enjoying Miss Aurora's company in yer absence, right doll?" He raised his glass towards her in a toast-like fashion.

We all have a salacious appetite, just fill mine. I'll do yours, not that I care.

"She's a feisty one alright, and that definitely won't help her in the long run. After all, who knows whatever scoundrel might sweep her off her feet and she'll support that person, who might as well be a threat to you. Definitely feel ya'." Korso nodded in agreement.
John smirked looking at men who just wanted to copy him in every way, but when Korso spoke again but in a 'certain' way, John chocked an eyebrow; "Opportunities like this come once in a blue moon. I'm givin' you more than just my blessing, I'm givin' you a place in my family's legacy...so..." --John smirked as Korso said, "I expect loyalty an' respect...towards me...an' my little girl." --- "Ya better keep that pecker of yers on ice, Jonny boy, or else I'll have it iced myself." John couldn't help but smirk, liking the little attitude he had, it was awfully amusing but he secret hatred remained but stayed underneath the understanding smile, and after waiting around like a bored man, Korso smiled! At last! And smirked and his eyes looking deceivingly at him than back to it's 'sweet self'. "Understood Big K, I'll see ya later than." John smirked and walked away.
