Once John had left the room, Aria laid on the floor crying as her whole body screamed in pain. She clawed at the carpet while she waited to subside. Tears rolled down her cheeks and her body curled up on the floor as she finally broke. She still didn't understand why John had done what he did. The way he told her it was because her family reminded him of his mother, but didn't feel like it was the whole story. So she laid there as the scenes of what happened flashed into her mind. Ten minutes had passed and Aria finally got off of the floor. She winced in pain before she turned to look at the door. She remembered hearing something sliding underneath it. There was a note on the floor, she went to it and picked it up. It read: Aria, remember if you tell a word, your beloved daddy and all you know will be in dust. Be careful, I'll know if you do. Have a nice time while you can, I'll know.Tears threatened to escape her eyes as she read the letter before she closed them and crumpled up the letter. She then turned and walked to the bathroom. She started to rip the paper up before she threw it in the toilet and watched as the paper dissolved before she flushed it. She then walked to the sink and stared at herself in the mirror. Her eyes were puffy, her mascara ran down her face, and her lipstick was slightly smudged. Other than that she looked quite fine. Her hair wasn't that messed up and she knew with just a little fix, it'd be better. She then looked at her wrists and saw there was no mark on them from him holding her. This made her investigate every place he hit her.
Thankfully there were no marks on where he hit her. He had made sure nothing would leave a bruise. It appeared he just wanted her sore. So with that, Aria stopped looking at the mirror, turned on the sink and started to wash her face. The cold water felt good against her face. Once it was washed she remembered her father also had mentioned that he put makeup in the rooms so that guests to fix themselves up. So she looked for the makeup and found that he brought pretty much what her and Charlotte wore. This made her smile slightly before she put all of her makeup back on.
She looked like brand new.. There would be no indication that she ever took the makeup off. She then fixed her hair and dusted off her dress before she stared at herself in the mirror. As she did this, the scenes flashed into her head, causing her to wince. She shook her head and slapped her cheeks a little to keep herself calm. Honestly, she wanted to leave right here, right now.. But the fact this was a special day for her father was what made her stay... She really didn't want to explain to him why she left in the middle of it. He'd never let her rest until he found the truth.
"And John told me not to say a thing to anybody.." Aria thought to herself as she continued to look at herself. She stood there for two more minutes until she finally ripped herself away and walked out of the bathroom. Then she grabbed the knob of the bedroom's door. She hesitated for a moment before she opened it and walked out of the room.
Aria immediately smiled at a couple that walked passed her and into another one of the rooms. She watched as no one went into the room she was in. Which was good, nobody else but that couple saw her exit it. Which meant when the next person goes in there, they'd be accused of wrecking the room.
Aria started to walk down the stairs, holding the railing tight as she could feel her anxiety rushing up. She looked around the room and watched at all of the happy guests. No one knew what happened to her.. No one had heard her cries for help. That was a good thing. She listened to Charlotte sing, but when she thought of her Dad, she felt her heart stop. What would he think if he found out? Aria thought to herself before her thought stole her attention.
Aria's right foot missed the third to last step, causing her to shriek as she fell down the stairs. Her back hitting the bottom step a little hard. The crowd around her gasped as she sat on the floor and put her hand on her back. "Ow.." Aria hissed as the stair had hit just the place where John had hit her with the paddle.
At least now I have a cover up.. Aria thought to herself with a bit of happiness.. Now people would think that she was in pain because she just fell down the steps.

Korso nodded in agreement. "This town's been gettin' too big Jonny. It's makin' me a little concerned about my baby girl." He scanned the crowd, eyeing the fair-skinned, well dressed young men that dominated the dance floor. "The boys these days, I can't read'em. They're not tough like how we were, that's for sure." He gleefully stared at John through the corner of his eyes. "You on the other hand; that youthful lookin' mug of yours doesn't fool me. I know you can be a tough guy when ya want to be, an' I know you got my back. So how about it...son?"
His grip on John's shoulder tightened as he replied: "I guess, I've been a bachelor too long for comfort, besides every man needs to settle down. And good women are hard to find, and you offering one is just a dream come true! Thanks big K."
Korso smiled, but an inner rage was starting to boil. "That's good...but I have one condition," he said, wagging his finger, "Opportunities like this come once in a blue moon. I'm givin' you more than just my blessing, I'm givin' you a place in my family's legacy...so..." He pulled John closer to where he could whisper in his ear: "I expect loyalty an' respect...towards me...an' my little girl." With a deep breath through his nose, Korso continued, "Ya better keep that pecker of yers on ice, Jonny boy, or else I'll have it iced myself." The smile was gone, and his eyes, burning like a fierce lion, stared John in the face. After what seemed like an eternity, the smile returned, and Korso was soon patting John's back like he was his best chum. "You got a lot of work ahead of ya. Why don't ya go say hello to her, eh? Meanwhile I'll be enjoying Miss Aurora's company in yer absence, right doll?" He raised his glass towards her in a toast-like fashion. John smirked looking at men who just wanted to copy him in every way, but when Korso spoke again but in a 'certain' way, John chocked an eyebrow; "Opportunities like this come once in a blue moon. I'm givin' you more than just my blessing, I'm givin' you a place in my family's legacy...so..." --John smirked as Korso said, "I expect loyalty an' respect...towards me...an' my little girl." --- "Ya better keep that pecker of yers on ice, Jonny boy, or else I'll have it iced myself." John couldn't help but smirk, liking the little attitude he had, it was awfully amusing but he secret hatred remained but stayed underneath the understanding smile, and after waiting around like a bored man, Korso smiled! At last! And smirked and his eyes looking deceivingly at him than back to it's 'sweet self'. "Understood Big K, I'll see ya later than." John smirked and walked away. Aurora couldn't help but smile amusingly, since when was Korso all tough on Johnny? Oh well. That was how men showed platonic love, or that's how she thought it of being. She smiled as she got a refill of her fancy drink, curtesy of ajohn and his 'considerableation', But her mind thought about Aria, something told her that Arias stubborness and John wouldn't mix, and oh boy she wasn't far from the truth but of course not to painful extremes. As John left, Aurora's head snapped back and she have Korso a flirtatious smile, and took part in the toast for the merry occasion, it was sudden but she decided to brush all the questioning feelings off her shoulder, she didn't want to be a nuisance. "You're just a charmer, aren't ya big timer~?" She said flirtatiously as she gave his cheek a loving poke, stroking his hair. "I'm sure Aria's gonna be in 'safe hands." John was a bit of a cassonova and she got the feeling a little risqué, so who knew what kind of 'care' he would give the feisty girl. But at the back of her mind something was making her think of something more grim and painful; abuse. She shrugged it, deciding to not read into it or try to say the least, since her sub - conscious side was.

Dante had looked all around, hoping to catch sight of Aria to at least see if she was having a good time. A few times he had spotted Korso and had been tempted to ask him, but thought better of it.
He had been about ready to check outside to see if she stepped out when he heard a shriek, causing him to turn his head towards the stairs. At seeing Aria start to fall, Dante set his drink down and rushed towards her, excusing himself as he brushed people.
When he got to the stairs Aria was rubbing her back as she hissed in pain. "Aria, you all right?" he asked as he knelt down beside her and offered his hand. "I suppose that's one way to make an entrance," he teased lightly. "Do you need to see the doc?" His eyes searched for anything broken or bruises on her body.

Aria said: Charlotte turned her head as she heard a loud thud coming from the stairs. Her eyes widened and she gripped her microphone tightly to keep herself from rushing to her little sister. Charlotte continued to sing but her entire body just begged her to jump of the stage and run straight to Aria. Tears gathered in Charlotte's eyes as she watched Aria unable to help. Cruella had drilled into her since she was five that you do not stop preforming just because something has happened in the audience.
As Dante began helping Aria Charlotte's heart felt it the tightness ease a bit. As soon as this set was done Charlotte was going to be at Aria's side. Charlotte's breath eased as she continued singing keeping an eye on the two so she would know where they went.

Ray heard the sound of a body hitting the floor and looked up. Aria Marcello was on the ground. She must have slipped on the stairs. Ray almost started toward her when he noticed one of Korso's men arrive at her side. He calmed his body a bit though he still wanted to check on her. He turned back to the woman he had been speaking to trying to distract himself from the young woman's plight.

Aria stretched her back out a little as she tried to work through the pain so she could get up. Some people tried to help her, but she told them she was fine. It was just a clumsy little accident. She was going to be fine. At least that was what she was telling herself. She went to get up but she suddenly heard Dante's voice and saw him kneel down to her. Her emerald eyes looked straight into his moonlit eyes as he started to tease her.
"Don't make fun of me, Dante," Aria whispered before she hissed in pain once more. It was honestly the last she needed right now, to be teased. Her back was in a lot of pain from that sudden hit to it. Normally she'd be able to ignore it, but since John had just beaten her there, it was a bit harder. And hitting the bottom step hard didn't help it either. But she was kind of happy that this had happened. Now if she did get a bruise, it would be because of the damn stairs. But she was wondering if this night was going to keep getting worse and worse. This thought made tears form in her eyes.
"I-I think I'm fine, Dante.. It feels as if it's going to just be a bruise," Aria replied to him talking about seeing the doctor. "I don't need to see a doctor for just a bruise.. I-I'll be fine. I just need to get my bearings," Aria said as she fought through the tears and moved to get on her knees so she could start standing up

Dante winced a little as he smiled. "Yeah, right, sorry," he said, apologizing for teasing her. Any other day it would get a small smile from her at the very least, but she didn't seem to be in that good of a mood.
She's probably embarrassed that she fell in front of everyone... and she's in pain, so that adds to it, he thought before shaking his head a little as she told him she didn't need to go to a doctor.
Without a word of warning, he hooked his arm under her knees as he held onto her back with his other arm. He stood up with her in his arms. "We should still make sure nothings sprained at least, if you won't see the doc, then I can look," he told her with a charming smile as he headed towards the stage area. "I'm taking you backstage, less eyes back there, all right?"
He walked with her in his arms, not caring about onlookers. When got backstage, he nodded to the guy at Charlotte's door. "Miss Marcello had a trip out front, so I'm taking her to her sister's room to give her a moment to breathe without eyes.
The man nodded before letting them into the room. "I'll be sure no one but the Don and Miss Charlotte are allowed back here."
Dante nodded his thanks as he closed the door behind them. Setting her down on the love-seat he sat down beside her. "Where are you hurting, Bambi? How's your ankle?" he asked as he bent down and gently took one of her ankles in his hands.

At Artemis's suggestion that her jealousy had something to do with Phillip, Anita instantly felt her face redden slightly in embarrassment once again, giving her away.
Though thankfully there were plenty of interesting people around to help take her mind off of the previous situation. Maybe they could buy her a drink, or better yet ask her to dance! Filled with a little more determination, Anita straightened her back as she listened to Artemis talk.
"I'd say more than half of them are too old for us," she replied to Anita's comment as they both scanned the crowds. "There was a nice looking red head who I'd asked to dance, but sadly he was dragged away." She displayed a dramatic swoon as she spoke, and Anita couldn't help but laugh, her mood brightening significantly. It was always so much fun talking to Artemis, especially since the two of them could be as dramatic as they wanted and wouldn't judge the other for it.
"He sounds like a real catch," Anita said with a wink, enjoying her friend's company.
"If he's smart he won't come back in," she teased back in a sarcastic tone. "But I suppose a lot of the handsome men around here have some influence with the mob. That or they do something else that makes them rich enough to attend this."
Anita nodded along in agreement, noticing all of the broad shoulders of the men walking around in expensive suits. They definitely looked intimidating, especially to a smaller frame like her. "Ohhhh! Do you think any movie producers or photographers might be here?" She couldn't help but feel excited at the prospect; maybe she could find some more work! Or get her name out in the world some more.

Edna said: Ray looked up at the polite lady asking if he was ok. He smiled politely. "I'm fine, thank you. I escorted the two boys responsible out, gave them a bit of a talk and cleaned up." He shook her hand smiling most woman preferred the hand kiss, Aria Mercello being an exception and now this Eddie woman. "I'm Raymond Jackson. But you can call me Ray." He introduced himself. "So how long have you been in Gatsberry?" He asked curiously. "I myself have been here a few months." He knew it was better to give a little information when asking for some. She was polite, well dressed but preferred a handshake. She was not a classic woman in that sense, and it would be interesting to see how. She smiled in relief. "Not a harsh talk, I hope. Boys can be idiots but a good portion don't mean severe harm. Though I guess if they did you could always shoot them" she laughed. "Nice to meetcha Ray. I've been here only a few months myself. Got a nice apartment and settled in as a private eyelash. I'm from Los Angeles, where you from?" He seemed polite and nice enough. She had no problems with him so far, except maybe for possibly roughing up a couple of boys for spilling drinks on him. That didn't justify the punishment necessarily. But whatever. It wasn't her problem right now. However if one of the boys turned up dead, she'd be on the case and Ray would be her prime suspect

She shrugged it, deciding to not read into it or try to say the least, since her sub - conscious side was. "Oh yeah, John's gonna show her what a true gentleman is," said Korso after John had walked away. Knowing that his two girls were being courted by two of his favorite men, a relieved Korso started to let go of his fatherly ambitions and got back to his old self, his dangerous self: Don Korso. As he basked in Aurora's attention, Korso, with a reinvigorated spirit, took Aurora by her hand and gazed into her majestic green eyes. "Say, doll, how about makin' this old man feel young for a bit an' come dance with me," said Korso, nudging her towards the dance floor where Korso's men were already shoving people aside to clear a space in the center of the room. "'Sides, I think we can catch you some admirers. I've been bankin' in the match-makin' business lately, so who knows?"
With his gaze trapped in her eyes, Korso led Aurora away from the bar, but not before stopping to notice Salvatore sitting on the far end, sipping on a gin, which brought a delighted smile to Korso's face. He stepped over and quickly patted the man's back. "Now that's a real man's drink," said Korso with a nod of approval. He journeyed back to Aurora as he thought, "That man's got a good vibe. Maybe he's lookin' for a job?"Now, with his stare back on Aurora, he lifted his arm up for her to grab. "Shall we?"_________________________ (The following takes place some time later, following Aria's ordeal with John and her injuring fall.) Korso, basking in the night air alone on the second floor grand balcony, smoked his last cigar while his men could be heard below throwing out another rowdy guest. It was necessary, for Korso wanted only rave reviews on his opening night and was willing to risk any negative press. But so far everythng was going perfect...until... One of his men came running to his side and then whispered something in his ear. The news made his eyes widen with shock. Minutes later he was in the first floor dressing room, storming past half-naked dancers and guards to get to Charlotte's private room. After busting the door open with his boot, Korso was relieved to find Aria with Dante in her presence. Korso huffed and puffed until he was calm again. After running his fingers across his sweaty hair, he approached the duo and calmly asked, "Y'all care to explain what happened here?"

I was a bit like them when I was a kid. I got lucky and survived pull that kind of stuff on the wrong guy around here and you'd be pushen' up daisies in a few minutes. I grew up in Chicago myself." Then he cocked his head to the side. "Private Eyelash? Is that something like a private eye?" He asked not having heard that term before.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The second Charlotte sang her last note she was running off the side stage to the back. Dante was with her so he would take her somewhere private and protected. The closest was her dressing room and she had seen Dante take her in that direction. Without looking or paying attention to what else was around her Charlotte pushed some stage hands out of the way on her way to get to her room.
At the moment Charlotte had tunnel vision. She saw a person in her door way and pushed past them knocking them a bit off balance as she rushed to Aria's side. She hit her knees next to her sister and touched her cheek brushing her hair back behind her ear.
"Oh Dovey are you ok? What happened? Do you need a Doctor? Doctor Kingston is here I can run out and get him if you do. It would only take a second. I'll get you something to drink to." Charlotte spoke quickly as she stood up intent to both get the doctor and a drink for her sister.

Aria only nodded when Dante apologized to her. She felt a little bad she told him not to tease her. He was only trying to make her feel better. But after everything that happened, she just wasn't in the mood. It didn't help she felt embarrassed on top of everything else she was feeling. Even though it was a good idea to stay at the party, she really wished she just left. Well, at least she was seeing Dante now. That was a good thing, right?
Aria went to apologize to him but he wrapped his arms underneath her knees and lifted her up. She winced a little in pain as he picked her up, but it faded right when he fixed how he held her. Her arms wrapped around his neck and she looked up at him. He then told her he was going to check her, causing her to blush slightly. "So you are going to be my doctor? I think I can live with that," Aria said with a small smile as she tried her best to flirt with him just a little. She wanted the mood of this situation to lift just a little. "And, okay," Aria said, agreeing to him taking out of the public's eye.
She let him take her backstage and watched as he told the other men that no one was allowed to enter the room but her father and Charlotte. He then sat her on the love-seat. Aria immediately sighed of relief when the nice comfy seat relaxed her muscles just a bit.
"Where are you hurting, Bambi? How's your ankle?"
Aria looked at Dante and winced just a little when he picked up her ankle. She hadn't noticed it with her back pain, but it appeared she fell on her ankle just a bit. She knew it wasn't a sprain cause she could move it without piercing pain, but it was still sore. "It hurts just a little, but I think it is fine," she told him, "It's just my back that is hurting.. I fell pretty hard on it," Aria stated before she heard the door bust open.
Aria jumped as she looked at her Dad staring at them in a bit of shock before he fixed his composure. He then walked into the room and asked what happened.
"I was walking down the stairs and got distracted and lost my footing," Aria said as she looked away from her Dad, finding that she really couldn't look at him right now. "You know how clumsy I am sometimes. But I'm fine, just a bit sore," Aria said as she forced herself to look at her Dad and give him a sincere smile. "Dante is helping me," She said as she pointed to him helping her ankle.
And next thing she knew the door opened again and Charlotte came into the room, not noticing their father as she went straight to her side. Her emerald eyes widened as Charlotte started talking a bit fast. She started talking about getting Philip, causing her head to start to shake. And when Charlotte got up, she grabbed her sister's hand and pulled her back to the seat. "I'm fine, I'm fine! I don't need a doctor.. I just want to be right here with you, Dante, and Dad.. I will get something to drink after I have calmed down," Aria said as she calmed her sister's worries.

Term for female private detective. There really ain't a lot of those around if you've noticed. But Anyone can get a detective license if they ain't got a criminal record the cops can find" she laughed lightly. "Good for me I'm clean as snow. Besides some property damage, but that was repairable so they never formally charged me" she'd almost taken off her nose a few times not being careful enough with compounds and having them explode almost in her face. But that didn't matter in this conversation.

Evelyn couldn't express the relief when Dean gave up on the idea of a dance and the two strangers approached. She'd heard about both, like she'd heard about most of Dean's friends and acquaintances. It was not like they had much else to talk about, since her life was not interesting at all. She smiled as they introduced themselves but got lost in her own thoughts as she observed the interaction.
Firstly, she'd have to make a mental note to tell Dean that his doctor friend was quite the rude gentleman. Denying his date a drink, wouldn't go that civilized if it were Evie in the girl's place. But that was it, she took a mental note of it and let it go. She looked around and was starting to get overwhelmed by the commotion, so she downed her second drink in one big gulp and kept being an observer, what she was good at.
"Evelyn O'Connell." were the only words she really pronounced to her date's friends, and only because she was asked her name. The, someone else joined the group and she made sure she turned her back on the recently arrived company. The devil spawn. Subtly hitting on two men at the same time, what a gracious woman. Again, she'd heard about the event she was apologizing for, and would have laughed, if it weren't for the concentration it took not to look at her, nor think of her family as the one who helped end hers.
When she left, she softly whispered "Don't worry, he will.", which she was sure Dean had heard. He'd have fun, away from the Marcellos, for a change. Hopefully, not talking about it either.
Near them there was a man, his tall, triangular shaped torso very distinguishable across the bar. His small and subtle patches of grey hair didn't take away the charm, and she didn't even pretend not to listen to his very obnoxious words about getting a woman on her knees. There was a lot a woman could do in her knees, including killing you with a small cut on the inside of your thigh, asshole, she thought. But she looked at him through the corner of her eye, not wanting to pay attention to her social group, and wondering if he were that drunk.

Sad to be all alone in the world...

She, at first, could ignore her proclaimed rival's taunts, for it was something that Cruella had mentioned many times before. Just because you take the stage, it does not mean you own the stage. The has-been primadonna at least attempted to boast, but Harris didn't need to own the stage. Although the business was a dog-eat-dog world, once you got into a troupe or a company, you didn't need to worry about recognition! You already got recognized by the producer. Perhaps that was just another of the many differences between them. Cruella went a whole solo career while Beatrice enjoyed the company of ... a company. Oh, how the tables have turned. In another world, where she was Beatrice Tremaine, they could have been partners. She could have at least shown some interest in Her next remark shattered all thoughts of 'what could have been'. There's a reason some people last and others, well...stay in the papers. The dying embers of her anger were poked many times until a bright flame roared within her, but her body only showed her right eye twitch once.
"Ms. De Vil," she started to 'correct herself' from using the christened name of fur-coated woman who was still stroking that ornamental rug as if she was Hercules parading around the Nemean lion's pelt across his girth until she heard a slight snicker come from around the bend. The grey-haired matriarch turned her head and saw one of her residents guffawing at their conversation. "Pardon me for a second." Beatrice coyly kept her smile up and turned to the bronzed girl. "Miss Cellini, you know how rude it is to intrude on others' conversations, don't you?" Chel was a perfect candidate for her special side business. She had tanned skin, long black hair, and just enough spunk that The Emperor would definitely enjoy, but she still had family that needed her for financial needs.

It was pleasing to have sighted Phillip, even if it had turned out to be such a short encounter. The two definitely had their fun whenever they were together, be it by making snide remarks at one another or teasing those around them. If people did not know any better, they could have hinted at something between the two. Phillip, sadly, had the habit of swooning over his companions too much; which led him to leave just as fast as he had joined them, much to Dean's silent amusement.
Before any of that could have transpired, though, Dean surely had his sweat run cold when the familiar sight of the Marcello heiress caught his eye. His experience when first driving Charlotte around had surely been....unique, if that was an adequate set of words to describe the event. He liked going out and having fun, but never had he felt so weary about the chance of having it happen. Above anything, he wanted to perform well and not get caught in the act with the daughter of the man he was working for. Deep down, Dean praised himself for a true gentleman who could control his lower head and think with his brain whenever his mouth did not get the best of him.
"Oh, it's fine. Boys will be boys, girls will be girls, right? I'm sure it was just an incident." he replied with a smile, albeit slightly nervous, leaning back on the bar. He could not help but smile upon the peck in the cheek she gave him before she left. Quite a curious one, that. More curious than that would have to be Phil's reaction. He knew there was an aura between him and Lottie, but boy, was this a fun turn of events.
He had noticed Evelyn was making an effort looking away, and he thought he understood why. Frowning a bit, he gently brushed his fingers over her knuckles while looking forward once the two were alone as means of assuring her they were fine. He knew she wouldn't need it, but the encouragement and presence seemed to be welcome. He thanked her whenever she gave it to him, so it was only fair he gave it back.
Something about her expression had shifted, yet the comment he heard on the side immedeately clicked and made him realize just why she suddenly started looking so tense. He assumed he would not enjoy hearing a comment about him getting on his knees as well. Most men made such comments, but well...
Turning his head to the male next to them, Dean was slightly taken aback at how imposing he was. He seemed to have some age, but his rough outlook was certainly hard to ignore. He was big and imposing, and his thick arms looked as if he could deal some serious damage. Was he working for Korso, as well? He'd have to play it safe with him.
These thoughts of being contained and controlled ceased once he noticed who he had made his comment to. It was hard not to notice Chel in a crowd. She had this exotic look about her, her tan skin, curvy figure and silky dark hair making her look incredibly appealing. If one was to focus only in the physical, they might underestimate the inside of Chel. Well, she happened to be his neighbor. She was bubbly, sure, and maybe even ditzy. Yet, he knew her well enough to care for the girl, even if he never said it. He respected heart and passion. It was probably because of that he was going to act stupid.
Taking a glass into his hand, eyeing its empty content, he shrugged looking down at it. "Doubt she'd have anything to work with if she did, big guy." he mentioned loud enough for the man to hear, staring at the glass with a harsher tone, the sound of someone hitting the ground passing by him as he felt strangely annoyed.
