Some of us aren't so lucky...

Peter headed along his way towards the Westside apartments for his semi weekly visit to go see his twin sister, Lina. Ironically he had kept forgetting to drop off the suit she had tailored for him for the Lounge opening that happened a week prior, and he figured it was probably a good idea to finally get it to her before she really started lecturing him for leaving it behind.
Prob'ly a good thing, tho, he thought to himself with a laugh as he cut through the backstreets. Otha'wise she'dve already skinned ya sumthin' awful fo' gettin' into all tha' trouble. Although she was probably one of the sweetest people on the planet, she was also a very sensitive person and cared a lot about her design work, as she wanted to be a famous fashion designer someday. Peter hoped she wouldn't be hurt by the fact that he had completely torn the garment from all the roof jumping, getting slammed into walls, and being thrown into the mud that had occurred while wearing it. But at least now he had the benefit of seeing her later after the whole situation of what happened that night had settled in, possibly cushioning any feelings she may feel when she finally noticed all the tears and oil stains. Tho then ag'in, maybe not.
Rearranging the bag on his shoulders that carried the soiled garments, he made it to the apartment complex and started to climb the fire escape. While it would make more sense to use the front door, he already had a bad reputation with practically everyone in the building. Plus his twin sister's adopted family, the Coopers, wanted to assimilate Peter into their clan, which definitely wasn't something he was interested in. Peter didn't trust rich people; perhaps it was cause of his life on the street and having to learn the hard way how greed tends to turn folks sour. And while there was a possibility that they might treat him okay, he still had a responsibility of taking care of his family back at the waterfront.
Though he supposed that if he was honest with himself, he'd like nothing more than to be with Lina again as an actual family. Ever since they were tragically pulled apart when they were younger, he still cared for her a lot and made it part of his goal to protect her due to not being there before when she needed it the most. He blamed himself for the fact she was split up from him in the first place, but visiting her as often as he could helped make up for it in a lot of ways.
And, of course, those reasons were practically a secret, since the fact that he still had a sister, let alone visited her, wasn't exactly something that his street family actually knew about.
"'ey, Lina!" he called through her window as he tapped on the glass. "Ya in there?"

Al was finally out and about on the town again. He needed some fresh air after all the crap he got himself into last night. He was at a party, almost killed, broke into a man's house and now its the next day. It seemed like he needed to be locked in a room, or something. walking down streets, lurking in alleyways and looking for more entertainment. He didn't really know what to do with himself now. He could wait around for potential victims or go to find something to do. He leaned against a brick wall of a building, int he alleyway, staring out and monitoring the area. Seems like no one was going to be around. The ones that were around didn't seem to be worth taking from.
He continued to lean on the wall until a familiar ginger headed boy was spotted. Al's face lit up with happiness and chuckled to himself. He started to walk towards him but stopped himself. He seemed like he was taking something to someone. It made him even more intrigued now. He distanced himself, staying back some so he wouldn't be noticed. He continued to follow him realizing they made it to the Westside Apartments. He widened his eyes a little bit, grinning, "Fancy, fancy.." He said lowly to himself. He watched as Peter began to move to the fire escape. He tilted his head and examined him.
He watched as Peter climbed up the fire escape only to make it so someone's window. He tilted his head and became even more curious, Does he have a chickadee? He grinned and had to find out now. He was torn out of his thoughts with Peter saying, "'ey, Lina!" he called through her window as he tapped on the glass. "Ya in there?" Al couldn't help but smile and mouth to himself, Linaaaaa. He bit his lip holding in a grin and waited for a chance to climb up after he was gone.

What do I want? I want my brother to stay with me..

Lina was in her room, working on another dress for herself. This one was a little bit more difficult to make. She was trying to make another red dress. She had done such a good one with the one she was currently wearing. This one was gonna be a little bit different. She had already made the dress that would go underneath it, which was a plain red dress. The one she was working on now was see through with some flower designs in it. All she was struggling with was connecting the top and the skirt together. As it was a bit difficult to sew. "Come on, work." Lina groaned as she was now unstitching it carefully due to she had accidentally sewed it a bit crooked. But she kept her cool. She couldn't crack underneath this pressure, it was a test for her, a test she was going to take. Even if it made her want to scream. Though she stopped for a moment so she looked up and think. "It has been about a week since the party, hasn't it?" She asked herself as she counted the days. It was indeed a week, and she hadn't seen Peter at all this week and it was the weekend again. This made her frown. "Where is he? Did I make him mad for making that suit? Did he even go?" She started to ask herself as she went back to sewing. Though since she was too lost in her thoughts, she accidentally pricked herself. "Shoot!" She gasped as she got up and sucked on her finger. She was going to her med kit that her parents kept in her room, but she suddenly heard a knock on her window. This made her quickly turn around with her finger on her lips. Her doe brown eyes widened as she removed her finger from her mouth. "Peter!" She exclaimed as a big smile came onto her face. She rushed to the window, opened it and helped him in. Once he was in she quickly hugged her twin brother. "Oh I missed you! You haven't seen me all week, did I do sumthin' wrong?" Lina asked as she pulled away from him a little and gave him a concerned look. (Dress she is making - here )

Lina had opened the window and let Peter inside, helping him crawl through before pulling him in for a hug. "Oh I missed you!" she said as she hugged him tight. "You haven't seen me all week, did I do sumthin' wrong?"
She looked slightly concerned when she pulled away from him and Peter gave her a quick smile. "You? Neve'! Tho I do 'ave sum bad news." He took the bag from off his shoulders and reached inside to pull out the suit a little ways. It didn't take a lot of cloth to see the assortment of rips and dirt stains on it, as it pretty much covered the entire clothing. "Sumthin' sorta happened a'the party," he continued in a low whistle as he tilted the torn fabric in her direction.
He hoped that she didn't get too concerned over how beat up it looked. It wasn't like him or the people he was with had been killed or anything... Though they did get thrown, chased, shot at, and threatened all while he was jumping and climbing over rooftops which wasn't exactly something he wanted to worry her with. Besides, he wanted to spend some time with his sister rather than talking about the suit since he hadn't seen her in a while due to a his busier schedule than usual.
Suddenly he noticed the drop of blood on her finger and he nodded his head towards her hand, a smile on his face. "So what'cha workin' on today?" he asked curiously.

Al stopped and saw how Peter just waited for someone to answer. He tilted his head and said lowly to himself, "It has got to be a girl. Definitely." He squatted down, waiting for him to have a chance to run up and peak. He knew he wasn't going to be doing that soon while Peter was still on his guard. Peter might send him off and he wasn't having that. He continued to wait and noticed how a girl came over to open the window for Gingersnap. She had ginger hair and brown doe like eyes. She resembled Peter in a way and it made him even more curious. Does he have a sister too? Guess we are gonna find out. He thought to himself.
He watched as Peter climbed through the window, he knew now was his chance. He waited until they all got situated before sprinting to the fire escape. He paused to make sure he didn't cause any noise. Luckily, he hadn't made a sound. It was a miracle he hasn't blown his cover already. He slowly started to climb up the fire escape, making it to the window. He peaked in and saw Peter talking to her,
"Sumthin' sorta happened a'the party,"
He saw Peter pause and was motioning to the suit. He raised an eyebrow and decided to interrupt their conversation and said. "Gingersnap, I think the suit looked stylish and more manly with the rips. It gave the I just killed a man look." He grinned, doing a thumbs up, he then looked at the girl, turning his attention to her and said, "So, who is this?" He casually just started talking to them like it wasn't a big deal. Even though he had just followed Peter, snuck up here and intruded on their conversation. He was so oblivious half of the time.

When Peter smiled at her, Lina felt some of her worry vanish. She knew he would never smile if she upsetted him. Though when he talked about having bad news, she felt her heart stop a little. He went into his bag and took out the suit she had made him. Her eyes widened as she saw all of the mud and rips in it. What in the world, Lina thought to herself as she walked to the suit to inspect it.
"Sumthin' sorta happened a'the party,"
"I think that's a undastatment," Lina said as she continued to inspect the suit. It seemed it was pretty much passed beyond repair. She was a bit said to see it in such a state, but she knew it wasn't going to last long. It was her twin brother after all. A smile formed on her lips before laughing a little. "What am I gonna do with'ya Peter?" Lina asked as she looked up at her brother and gave him a heartwarming smile. Laughing a little at the silly expression he gave her.
Peter then asked her about what she was making, which made her look at her finger. It was bleeding just a little. "Oop, ya caught me," Lina laughed before she pointed to the table with her dress. "A new red dress. I was so proud of this one, I couldn't help but make 'nother." She said while she pointed to the current red dress she had on.
Though she wasn't able to talk much about it, cause suddenly she heard someone behind her. She turned around quickly, her hair flowing after her as she let out a gasp.
"Gingersnap, I think the suit looked stylish and more manly with the rips. It gave the I just killed a man look."
Brown doe eyes widened more when he spoke about killing a man, causing her to look back at Peter. "Killed a man!?" Lina exclaimed before she suddenly grabbed a book and went to Al. She raised the book. "Who are 'ou?! What're 'ou doing in my 'oom!" Lina said, her accent getting heavy as she demanded to know who this stranger that was climbing in her window was. She was starting to sound more like Peter.

Peter wasn't exactly expecting to see a mess of black hair peak up from behind the window and immediately jump in to the conversation like it was nobody's business. Mostly because Al was rather loud whenever he attempted to climb up fire escapes like the one he was on now, though this time, Peter couldn't help but be rather impressed by the fact he went by without any notice.
"Gingersnap," Al called through the open window as he attempted to climb inside. "I think the suit looked stylish and more manly with the rips. It gave the 'I just killed a man' look."
Peter smirked in the guy's direction, raising the cap on his head slightly as he ran his fingers through his hair before returning the hat to its original position. He wasn't exactly all that thrilled about revealing the fact that he had a sister and visited her often, especially to the guy that could sometimes be louder than a ship's foghorn. But he didn't exactly have a way around it now, and he definitely didn't want his partner-in-crime getting the wrong impression.
"'cause ya sure know style, righ', Coal Bin?" he replied as he rolled his eyes towards the raven-haired kid. He honestly shouldn't even be surprised by his friend's random visits anymore; it seemed like everywhere Peter went, Al was like a stubborn shadow that followed.
Poor Lina, however, wasn't quite so calm. But then again, she hadn't met Al yet and wasn't used to his 'eccentric' personality. "Killed a man!?" she exclaimed, her eyes wide. She immediately grabbed a book and started to threaten Al, much to Peter's amusement. "Who are 'ou?! Wha're you doing in my 'oom!"
Before she could really start throwing books, Peter moved between the two of them and dragged Al inside through the window. "Ya really like ta make a haz'rd of yurself, don'cha, Al?" he replied as he punched the raven-haired kid on the shoulder. This wasn't exactly the kind of reunion he wanted to have with his sister, and he hated people knowing about her for the sole purpose of protecting her in case his actions landed her in deep trouble. But as much as he wanted to keep his secret up, it wasn't going to happen; Peter knew Al too well, knowing that being as stubborn as he was, his pal was not going away until he knew what Peter was doing. And because he didn't want to attract any more attention to themselves by the sight of a raven-haired kid sitting out in front of a window on a fire escape of a rich apartment complex, Peter figured it was best to handle the situation inside.
No choice bu'ta play along with i', I s'pose, Peter thought with a sigh as he turned towards Lina with an apologetic look on his face, mouthing a quick "sorry" before glancing towards the intruder.
"Coal Bin, this is my siste', Lina. Lina, this is Coal Bin. Also known as the kid tha' ain' go' any manne's." He gave a quick, unamused look in Al's direction before crossing his arms over his chest, leaning against the side of the wall next to the window.

He came inside the room slightly and still remained seated on the window. He looked over to Peter, hearing his little remark,
"'cause ya sure know style, righ', Coal Bin?"
He smiled, winking at Peter. He mouthed, "You got that right!" he then turned his attention back to Lina. Al watched as Lina became shocked at the comment he made. All I said was "kill a man"? He thought to himself. He then spoke out saying, "All I said was kill a man? Is it that bad-" He was cut off as he saw Lina pick up a book. She came towards him and screamed out dramatically, "Control your woman! She's crazy!" He put his hands up, waving them around in an aggressive motion to get her to stay back, stumbling some but he caught his balance.
He was soon enough being dragged into the room by Peter himself. He rubbed his arm where Peter playfully punched him. He grinned a little from this whole situation. He peaked back at Lina and then back at Peter. He fixed his shirt and fiddled with his hair and said, "The only hazard here is her with that book." He took a deep breath and then released. He started looking around and turned back to hear Peter say,
"Coal Bin, this is my siste', Lina. Lina, this is Coal Bin. Also known as the kid tha' ain' go' any manne's."
Al had a huge grin come across his face, he spun on his heel to look at Lina and then back at Peter. "No way, she's to pretty? You're related!?" He acted surprised but was being playful. He walked over to Lina and bowed dramatically, saying, "Nice to meet you, Lina." He popped back up and looked at Peter, he couldn't stop grinning. He knew he was going to have some fun with this. He tried to contain himself and not get under Peter's skin to much but he knew he was going too. It was the perfect opportunity to push the limits. He turned his attention to the what seemed like a dress. Did she make this? He walked over to it and got close. He whipped around and smiled big and said, "Did you make this!?" He had to admit that it looked really great!

"Control your woman! She's crazy!"
Lina watched the raven haired man fling his arms around like a little mosquito, keeping her at bay. Her expression went colder as she raised the book higher. "I asked ya who 'ou are!" Lina yelled a little before she watched Peter come between then and drag the man into the room. Which got Peter a glare of his own as she backed away from both of them. This time the book was in front of her, ready to smack the both of them. Then her eyes widened as well as her eyebrows when the man called her a hazard.
"Da onley hazaard here is 'ou! 'ou da one trespassin'!! I am in da right to knock ya on ya nose!" Lina said, her accent getting even harder. She then saw Peter look behind at her to mouth that he was sorry, which made her give him an even more confused look.
"Coal Bin, this is my siste', Lina. Lina, this is Coal Bin. Also known as the kid tha' ain' go' any manne's."
Lina lowered her book and looked at Al then back at Peter. "I'll say, he is coming into mah 'oom without permission!" She said before she heard Al compliment on how she couldn't be Peter's sister due to how much prettier she was. A smile came on her face, she loved it when people complimented her. It was a weakness. "Flattery will get 'ou everywhere, Nice to meetcha as well," Lina said as she put the book down. But when she saw Al run over to the dress she was currently making, her eyes widened.
"Please don't touch it!" Lina exclaimed as she went to hurry to him, but all he did was turn around and ask if she made it. This made her stop and look at him in shock. He seemed very happy and excited. Did that mean he liked it?
"Uh yes, it's not done tho," Lina admitted as her cheeks started to red. The only people that showed interest in her dresses were her adopted parents and Peter. It was a new thing for someone else to compliment. She had no friends at school after all, and all the girls treated her like dirt because they were jealous of her talent. Or that is what it felt like to her.

Once Peter had explained who everyone was, he watched Al's eyes widen in disbelief. "No way, she's too pretty?" the raven-haired kid exclaimed. "You're related!?"
Peter rolled his eyes at Al's comment, giving him a quick smirk. "Why ya soun' so su'prised? Ya know I go' all the good looks in the family." He winked over in Lina's direction, a playful grin on his face. Though it seemed Al's comment and dramatic introduction had calmed her down quite a bit, as she was now setting down the book she was holding threateningly in her hands.
"Flattery will get 'ou everywhere," she replied with a smile on her face, addressing Al. "Nice to meetcha as well."
Peter watched the exchange with a grin on his face, letting loose an amused laugh as he watched Al approach a dress lying on a table in the corner. So tha' must be the dress she been workin' on, he thought. Though he was interrupted when Lina immediately started rushing towards the flash of black hair walking towards the garment.
"Did you make this!?" Al asked as he turned around, stopping her in her tracks. Peter watched as her face filled with surprise, the blood rushing into her cheeks. He could easily guess as to why: she was usually very private when it came to her designs due to the fact that some people liked to lash out at her for them. Peter knew it was cause she had so much talent, as to him, at least, Lina was honestly the most creative and brilliant fashion designer in the world.
Walking up behind the two others, Peter glanced over their shoulders to get a look at the dress. Like his sister had warned earlier, it wasn't finished quite yet. But the results so far were stunning, and the red color made him smile as it was so typical of Lina. "I think this'll be yur grea'est creation ye', Lina!" he exclaimed, giving her a sincere smile. Though it was a compliment he said to just about every one of her new outfits, he meant it every time. "So wha's the occasion?"
