It was a quiet night at Gatsberry, just like every other night. Hardly anyone out, a few lights on in buildings and some music from a local bar. Until it got interrupted by the sound of grunting in the alley way beside Sykes's office. Sykes had a problem with one of his customers, finding out that he was going to try and rat him out. Which is something you should not do to a guy like him. Once you tell him you have his loyalty and you break it. You're over. Simply as that. Sykes was punching the guy left and right, as the guy kept groaning louder and louder. He then lifted him up by the neck with one hand like it was nothing, holding him there. Sykes was going to kill this guy for betraying him. He hated snitches and every snitch he had, he took care of. Whether if was from his client Jackson Reed, to his personal guards or himself. You don't ever snitch on Sykes or you'll be swimming with the fishes.
Sykes smirked at him, making a " tsk, tsk " sound with his teeth, as he inhaled some of the smoke from his cigar. blowing it into his face. " You really think, I wasn't going to find out. " He chuckled, " I can't believe I trusted you, you fucking rat. " He squeazed his hand harder around his neck, " You come into my business, buy my stuff and I only ask for your loyalty to me. Then, I find out from a little birdie that you were plannin' to rat me out. " He glared, getting angrier by the minute. " You know what I do to rats?, " He growled as he got closer to him, " I break their fucking necks. " He slammed him again against the hard, brick wall only worsting the pain for him. Sykes loved to torture the people that double crossed him. He was not the one for killing instantly. He wanted them to pay for it. Making sure that in their last moments they regretted ever doing it.
It was only just the beginning.

Archer was making his usual rounds through the town. He would always like to escape for the night, get out of the house and get some fresh air. He walked down the street, tilting his head back and inhaling deeply. He stared up at the sky, looking at the stars, the clouds and the moon. The sight always managed to calm him some, he could always appreciate the beauty. He exhaled, looking back down, staring in front of him again. He continued on walking, rounding the corner to head down an alley, looking down at his feet. He always felt uneasy with alleyways, I guess it was always something that bothered him. He paused for a brief moment when he heard a grunt. He widened his eyes in shock, whipping his head in the direction it came from. He heard it again and began to walk to where he heard it from. He made his way down the alleyway to see an office. He tilted his head staring at it, wondering who it could belong too.
He started to walk towards the office but then stopped hearing the grunt again. He turned around seeing it was coming from the other alleyway behind the joint. He started heading towards it slowly, not making a sound. He didn't want to get caught up in this mess or drama, I should have just stayed at home, I knew I should have. He made it to the alleyway, sticking to the side, he ducked behind huge crates stacked up and watched the interaction.
"You really think, I wasn't going to find out. " the man chuckled, " I can't believe I trusted you, you fucking rat. " He saw the older man holding the younger one by his throat. Archer was honestly shocked at this point and said quietly to himself, "Why is it always me? Every time?" He listened to the man speak again, "You know what I do to rats?, " He growled as he got closer to him, " I break their fucking necks." He slammed the man and it caused Archer to jump. He widened his eyes, realizing the noise he made from the jump and ducked down. He placed a hand over his mouth trying to not make anymore sound. He stayed still hoping the man would think it was just a stray dog digging around for scraps.

Thaddeus still had the man held by his throat, he looked blue almost about to pass out. Thaddeus threw the man down which made the man grunt. He stared down at him and started to kick him in the stomach, " You're so pathetic. You're not even putting up a fight. " He kicked in the face and you heard a crack and the man screamed a little. Thaddeus was very sadistic with the way he hurt them. He would break limbs and leave them there or make them bleed, leaving them to bleed out and die. He would be so brutal but, did he care? No. They put this on themselves. Thaddeus inhaled the last bit of his cigar and put it out against the man's cheek. Leaving a burn mark. He stood there watching him bleed as his nose and mouth were gushing. He was always satisfied when blood started, seeing him made him feel relaxed almost. The man peaked up at Thaddeus, saying faintly, " Please, Sykes... I have a family, I won't do it again, I swear... Please! " He pleaded and pleaded for him to stop but, it only caused to make him madder. He kicked him in the stomach again. " Shut the fuck up, " rolling his eyes. Thaddeus threw back his foot again, then stopped. Hearing a sound.
He peaked back and knew it was close by. He put on his glasses and looked around, " Dammit. " He peaked down at the man, bending down, taking both hands around the mans bruised neck. " No.. No.. Please, PLE-.. " He snapped the man's neck like it was a twig and went to the side where his office was at at the side door and knocked three times, his guards came out and Thaddeus pointed to the body, "Get rid of it. " The guards walked to the body and picked it up, disappearing with it in the alley. He peaked back at where the sound was coming from. He walked towards to the crates, " Hello? " He knew something was around. " Maybe it was just a cat or something, " He thought. But, he wasn't leaving until he was sure.

Archie continued to stay ducked behind the crates, he couldn't believe that he gotten himself into this. He continued to listen and then heard the man's neck snap, he widened his eyes and was in shock. He couldn't believe he had seen a murder take place, well - heard a murder. To him it was still to much. He tried to contain his thoughts but they were going wild, I should've stayed home? Why did I even come out in the first place!? This is why I stick to myself and stay inside. I can't deal with this right now?! Archie was snatched out of his thoughts as he heard the man say, "Hello?" Archie didn't respond and kept put where he was.
He knew that the man wasn't going to leave and that he was onto him. He took a deep breath - inhale, exhale, he was trying to not focus on what happened. He had a light bulb go off in his head and started looking around for a rock. He found on and grabbed a hold of it. He waited for a good moment and tossed it over in a different direction. It made it sound like whatever was near went of into a different direction. Archie Stayed seated behind the crates, he lifted his head a little to see if he was still there and saw him, plopping back down quickly. He then thought to himself, God, does this guy ever leave or give up? He brought a hand to his face, waiting to see if his idea would work. Other than that he knew he was shit out of luck.

Thaddeus continued to stand there, looking into the night. He was curious because, he usually never sees strays. Maybe someone was spying on him. He started to walk a little standing beside the crates now, getting a better look of the alleyway. " Come out, I know you're out here. " He seemed to get more aggravated by the second. Thaddeus was an impatient guy. He didn't like to wait around for things and him standing there just wasn't working. He sighed and got another cigar from his pocket, lighting it with a lighter. He inhaled the fumes and rolled his eyes, " This if fucking ridiculous, why am I still out here? " Thaddeus started to walk back to the door and was about to knock for the guards to let him in, but a noise stopped him.
It sounds like whatever was there darted off in another direction. He walked fast to the sidewalk and peaked both ways, seeing if he could see anyone. It was so dark, he couldn't make out where the person went or even if there was a person. He sighed in aggravation. Maybe someone was messing with him, maybe they are still here. He peaked back and looked around then stopped, seeing a shadow of blackness sitting there behind the crates where he was standing. He walked a little towards it, " Get up, I can see you sitting there. " He reached into his pocket and opened up a pocket knife, keeping it in his pocket so the person doesn't see.

He widened his eyes in shock. Was this actually going to work? Oh my God, for once? He started to smile and become ecstatic from this. His dreams were destroyed as the older man called out to him. He sighed in defeat and became sick to his stomach. "Get up, I can see you sitting there." The older man said, the words kept going through his mind. He didn't want to get up, he'd rather stay there and hope his death was quick. He slowly stood and stared up at the man. He took the moment he had to examine who this man was.
He didn't look familiar and he had never seen him before. He seemed professional, tall, and muscular. He could possibly be in his late fifties, at max. He tilted his head, spotting the hair color, Yeah, definitely late 50s for sure. He stopped examining who his possible murderer could be and stepped out of the shadows. He looked down and said, "I was just passing through. I didn't see anything, sir." He knew he wasn't going to believe him but it was worth a shot? He looked up at him, gripping onto his journal tightly. He almost forgot he had it but luckily he did. He would usually hold onto it to calm him down. He never knew what was calming about it but he didn't mind the secret of it. As long as it worked, he didn't care.
He looked down and said, "I'll just be on my way now, okay? He said it in a questioning manner. He didn't know if this man was gonna let him just go so easily. He started to walk past the man, taking his time, making sure to take slow steps as well. He didn't want to anger him or make him feel threatened in anyway. He started to hurry past him and said,"Bye, Sykes-" Archie cringed at saying his name. Why make the man know you know his name? Why Archer? Why? You'll definitely be marked as a threat now. He continued to hurry down the alleyway not even stopping.

Thaddeus stared, seeing a boy emerge from the darkness. He was holding a journal and his black hair covering half of his face. He tilted his head, puffing on his cigar. This boy seemed harmless, he just seemed to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. He continued to stare, " Mm, you say that... But, I don't think I trust you. " he looked him up and down. He just witnessed him kill someone, he wouldn't get off the hook that easily.
He watched him as he tried to walk off and raised an eyebrow, and stopped some. This little guy knew his name. he definitely couldn't let him go. He started to walk to him and grabbed him the back of his shirt, pulling him back. He doesn't trust anyone easily even if they seem the type to keep their mouth shut. He peaked down at him and had a grip on his shirt, " Not so fast, we need to have a little chat before I can let you off. I need to make sure, you'll keep you're mouth shut. " He smirked and started to drag him to his office, knocking on the door, peaking at him. He was going to give this kid a chance. He isn't the guy to usually give chances, but since he was just a kid, he made an acception.

Archie thought he was actually going to manage to get away finally. He thought wrong as he felt footsteps behind him and catching up. He sighed, closing his eyes tightly, waiting for what was to come. He was never much of a fighter and couldn't handle these kind of situations. Murder and scamming aren't that related. He felt a grip on the back of his shirt, making him come to a complete stop. He widened his eyes, peaking up at him and hoping for the best. " Not so fast, we need to have a little chat before I can let you off. I need to make sure, you'll keep you're mouth shut. " He watched as Sykes smirked down at him. Archer was shocked that he was even suggesting the idea of him living.
He stumbled as he was dragged off, he caught his footing, beginning to walk, speeding up with his pace. Archie was the panic type. He didn't know how to deal with conflict well. He never was one for violence - seeing violence or being involved was not for him. He was thinking on what he could do next to get out of this predicament. He looked around for a possible object to hit him with. He couldn't find anything, sadly.
Although, he was suggesting for him to live so maybe he shouldn't be that scared. He continued to stay with the man as he heard him knock on the door. He waited to see what was in store for him.

Thaddeus chuckled at the boy, seeing he was scared out of his mind. He had no intention on killing him, but he wasn't letting him go, until he was sure he could trust him. The guards opened the door for him and he pushed the boy in front, letting him inside first and then walked behind him. The guards shut and locked the door behind him. His office was huge, but dark. He liked it dark with just a few low lights. It made the guests feel scared and intimidated, which is what he liked. He sat down on his chair at his desk and scooted up some. He continued to puff on his cigar, staring at him. " Come, sit down, I'm not going to hurt you. " He chuckled a little, " You thirsty? " He peaked at the guards and one guards went to the cabinets and got his whiskey and then a Pepsi for the boy, sitting them in front of each of them.
Thaddeus started to pour him a glass and peaked at him. He seemed so fragile and scrawny. He tilted his hand and leaned forward some in the chair, " So, kid... What do I call you? Since you already know my name. " He took a sip of his whiskey and smirked at him, waiting for him to answer.

Archie felt himself being pushed and caught himself. He looked back angrily at him, he almost lost his footing. He was slightly pissed from how he was being handled but calmed himself. He brushed a hand through his hair and fixed his shirt. He walked over to the chair after hearing his remark, " Come, sit down, I'm not going to hurt you. " Sykes chuckled after he spoke. Yeah, right. Seems like you have a way for showing mercy. Archer ironically thought to himself as he thought of Sykes's last victim. He then heard the man ask, "You thirsty? " Before he could even respond the guards had placed the drinks in front of them.
He stared at Sykes for a moment and then looked down at the drink. Is it poisoned? At least it is Pepsi. Doesn't seem like the worst way to die -poisoned by Pepsi. He questioned it but eventually gave in. Archer grabbed the drink and took a sip of it. He sat it back down and then looked back at Sykes, " So, kid... What do I call you? Since you already know my name. " Sykes said. Archer thought to himself, I'm not a kid? I'm an adult. He inhaled deeply before responding, "My name is Archer and I'm an adult...I am not a kid." He knew it wasn't the best time to be correcting but he couldn't help it. He wasn't going to let this man talk down to him.

Thaddeus chuckled at him when he answered in that childish tone. " Mm, you sure do seem like one. How old are you? " He continued to study him and smirked. He seemed about 18, maybe 20. Who knows, this kid may surprise him. He peaked down and got some papers out, and fixed his glasses. " Anyways, let's start off this conversation with what you saw. " He raised an eyebrow at him. He had a weird feeling about this kid. He looked weak but, he sure didn't seem scared to snap back at him. He liked people like that. Showed they had guts.
" Because if you want to be off the hook, I'm going to have trust you, and I don't trust easily. " He puffed on his cigar once more, blowing it into the air. " So, you may be here for a while. " He smirked, peaking at him once more with his golden brown eyes. He looked down at the stacks of papers and startedto go through the files he had there.. He pulled out a file out and peaked at it. He started to rip it up and through it in the trash. It was the guy's order sheet, since he wasn't of use anymore he got rid of it. Or if anyone came to find him, it would be like they never existed.

Archie listened to him chuckle and was taken back by it. Really, you're laughing at me? Archie raised an eyebrow and and couldn't help but feel wound up. He sighed listening to the man, "Mm, you sure do seem like one. How old are you? " Archie peaked down and then looked up at him, "I am twenty-four." He ignored the snide remark of him seeming like one. Archie looked down and remembered he had his journal. He ran his thumb gently over the cover, a small smile came to his face and it disappeared. He stared at it for a moment and then placed it under his leg. He peaked back up at Sykes.
" Anyways, let's start off this conversation with what you saw. " " Because if you want to be off the hook, I'm going to have trust you, and I don't trust easily. " Sykes puffed on his cigar once more, blowing it into the air. " So, you may be here for a while. "
Archie became irritated from hearing that and said, "I guess we will be here for some then. Trust is earned. If you want my trust, I want your trust." Archie put his elbow on Sykes's desk, leaning his head onto his own palm. Archie was usually calm and collected but he always had a problem keeping his mouth shut. On the other hand, he usually respected those who respected him. Respect was earned, when it is earned it will be given. Archie noticed the file and then this whole business clicked. Drugs. It had to do with drugs. He widened his eyes and put his hands up, "Listen, mister... I am not getting involved in any drug business. If earning your trust has to do with any delivery options, just kill me now." He said it so calm, the words just rolled off his tongue. He always was uninterested when it came to drugs. In the past people have offered for him to join and do drops. He always declined them on spot and he wasn't going to be forced into the business now.

" I'm twenty-four. " Thaddeus widened his eyes some, a little shocked. This kid didn't look twenty four at all. He raised an eyebrow, watching him. Seeing him run a finger over the cover of his journal. " Maybe this kid writes or draws, whatever it is he seems to enjoy it. " He tilted his head, " What do you got in your notebook, kid? " He seemed curious on what this kid does. He wanted to know a little about him and seemed to have caught his interest.
" I guess we will be here for some then. Trust is earned. If you want my trust, I want your trust. " Thaddeus smirked, " How do I know I can trust you? You could be an undercover reporter or some shit. " He leaned back in his chair, " I just simply want to know, what you saw. " He seemed aggravated that he ignored that question. He went back to leaning on the desk close to him, staring as the kid as he put his elbow on the desk.
He sighed and then heard him say, " Listen, mister... I am not getting involved in any drug business. If earning your trust has to do with any delivery options, just kill me now. " Thaddeus rubbed his temples some at that. Why the hell would he think he would have someone he didn't trust handle anything of his. " This is hopeless, " He thought, continuing to rub his temples and then puffed on the last of his cigar before throwing it in the trash. " I'm not going to make you handle anything of mine, you're fucking out of your mind thinking that. " He sighed softly, " Look, kid... I just want to know if I can trust you. You saw what I was doing, or at least half of it. And personally, I don't like snitches. So, if you know that you are gonna tell somebody. I can go ahead a fix this problem myself. " He tilted his head, smirking.. putting his knife beside him on the desk. " I'm going to ask once more, what did you see? And am I going to be able to trust you? "

Archie's eye twitched after he heard kid again. He sighed, aggravated and said, "It is just writings." He got off the topic quick. He would rather not share his personal information/passions before he died. He widened his eyes, looking to the side quickly and then listened to him again. He heard his comment about the undercover reporter and couldn't help but roll his eyes. Him, an undercover reporter. He wished he could be one, at least he would be doing what he loved. Writing. He was about to say something but was cut off quickly by Sykes remark.
" I'm not going to make you handle anything of mine, you're fucking out of your mind thinking that. " Sykes sighed softly, " Look, kid... I just want to know if I can trust you. You saw what I was doing, or at least half of it. And personally, I don't like snitches. So, if you know that you are gonna tell somebody. I can go ahead a fix this problem myself. "
Archie was shocked when he saw the knife come out on the table. He became anxious again and looked away. He knew he was pushing it. He was avoiding answering the question but didn't know if he should tell him. If I tell him will he kill me? Should I tell him I actually saw it... Archie sat back in his chair, turning his attention to Sykes. If I am gonna die from this might as well tell it all. Archer's whole attitude changed quickly. He then smiled with an attitude and said, "I was walking down the street and heard a grunt, it kind of caught my attention and I followed it. It led me to you, you holding a man by his throat, and choking him. You threw him down too." He raised a finger and pointed it to him, "Don't forget! You also kicked him - possibly breaking a rib." He crossed his arms, shrugging, making a questioning face, and continued with the attitude, "I hid behind crates because I would rather not see the poor guy die. You broke his neck, just taking a wild guess from the snap. Then you found me and we are having this lovely chat. Archie, tilted his head and raised an eyebrow, "Anything else?" The smirk faded and it was left with a face full of attitude.

Thaddeus raised an eyebrow at the boy's short comment. " Just writings, huh? " Not really the answer he was hoping for. But, he didn't really blame the kid for not going into fill detail. I mean he was in a life or death situation. Plus, he hardly knew him. He sighed softly, staring at him. Seeming him get aggravated with him too. This kid had an attitude. Usually, Thaddeus wasn't the type to deal with it. But, seeing this kid do it kind of impressed him, it was quite humorous also.
" I was walking down the street and heard a grunt, it kind of caught my attention and I followed it. It led me to you, you holding a man by his throat, and choking him. You threw him down too. Don't forget! You also kicked him - possibly breaking a rib. I hid behind crates because I would rather not see the poor guy die. You broke his neck, just taking a wild guess from the snap. Then you found me and we are having this lovely chat. Anything else? "
He glared some, " Fucking smart-ass brat. " He didn't want to get angry so, he took a deep breath and let out a sigh. He took a a drink of his whiskey and continued to stare at him. Studying him once more. Should he really trust this kid? Should he just save the trouble or risk and just kill him now? I mean, what if he just puts on an act just to get out and then go straight to the cops. Thaddeus peaked down and stared off some. Then, got up out of his chair. He walked behind the kid's chair and took a hold of the sides. He turned him right around like it was nothing and stared into his eyes. They were face to face. " Now, if someone were to see you leave here or saw you walk in with me and start to ask you why or what happened... Am I going to be able to trust you to keep your mouth shut? " His face was dead serious, this was the moment of truth. If this kid would live another day or die right in that chair.
