Gael walked around the homeless shelters, whistling a merry tune and shuffling a pack of mismatched, yellowed and beaten up cards. He walked with a jaunty spring in his step and every now and then slipping a sweet to some kid or harried teen mother rocking her hungry baby. This was where hope came to die, but Gael Trouillefou was full of hope, and boredom. And bright-eyed curiosity for anything interesting. People didn't call him 'Little Cat' for nothing after all. He was like a tom cat patrolling his territory and indeed that's what he thought of what he was doing. This was his turf and his family and he wouldn't abandon them for anything, even with his mother begging he bring himself and his little brother home. So instead he just patrolled the homeless shelters on his off days and tried to keep at least small things pleasant. Stealing that old AC out of the trash and bringing it here was just one of the ways he tried to help.

"'ey, if i' isn't Mista Cat," Peter said with a grin as he spotted the black-haired fellow sporting his usual feather-topped hat walk into view. The redhead tipped his hat towards Gael and returned to his prior position on the second tier of the building, his legs dangling off the sides of the concrete structure. "Haven' seen ya 'round 'ere in a while."
He watched the man with a mischievous glint in his eye. If Peter was completely honest, he rather admired the fellow for his natural flair in conning people. In fact, he rather took a few tips out of the guy's book when doing his own personal cons. The guy could sell just about anything, and get away with taking whatever he wanted out from other people's noses. And better yet, he cared about the homeless people as well, bringing by things that they might need or would make their lives just slightly more comfortable.
Like whatever he was carrying now, for instance.
"An' wha' present did ya bring by today, Gael?" Peter asked, nodding his head towards the contraption under his arm.

Gael swept off his hat and gave a dramatic bow to Peter, all the while sporting a wide and mischievous grin. "Salut, Peter! How are you today, fox fur?" he liked giving the kids little nicknames, and if the idiot Al called Peter Ginger Snap, then Gael would call him Fox Fur fr the bright red hair. Peter also acted a little like a fox, clever and sly, a kid after Gael's own heart if there ever was one. He grinned slyly and heaved up the bulky AC up for Peter to see. "It's called an 'Air Conditioner'. They're all the rage for rich people. So I nicked one out of a mansion's trash to use here. If it works right, it'll make everything a little more bearable in the heat"
