Miguel literally threw himself to the small and used couch the moment he stepped into the tiny apartment. It wasn't amazing or too big but it has his place and he enjoyed it. Plus, having lived with so many siblings he had learnt to enjoy the little treasure that was having your own bedroom, bed and closet. He took a deep breathe and then it hit him. Archie! He had told the guy to pass by his place to talk more about his stories.
The man jumped off the couch and in just two steps he was standing in his kitchen. He put didn't know what Archie would like so he took it out from his secret compartment some licor he had bought some days ago (and now that he thought about it, he wasn't sure what it was anyways) and at the same time put some water to boil for coffee. He was in the middle of thinking what to offer Archie to eat (he had some old cookies and some left overs from the restaurant) when he hears someone knocking on the door. He ran towards it and opened in a quick movement. "Hi."

This is why I don't talk to people.

Archie was making his way down the hall. He was looking forward to seeing his friend Miguel. They went way back, Archie always treasured their friendship. He trusted him enough to tell him all the stories that flowed through his mind, asking if he should put them on paper. I guess you could say Miguel was like a consultant for him. He made his way to the door, fixing his hair, making sure he didn't look like a total wreck. He slowly knocked on the door. He heard a little bit of racket coming from the apartment only to have the door opened quickly. He was greeted by a smiling Miguel, full of joy and life. It was refreshing to see a smiling face.
"Hi."
He grinned at him and raised a hand. He then responded, "Hey, buddy." He leaned in,, giving him a small pat on the shoulder. He walked in and peaked around and saw how everything was set up. Miguel always had a sense of style. He envied him in that category and also his excellent cooking skills. He turned around and looked at Miguel, "So, how are you doing?" He stood there waiting for a response.

"Same as always." Miguel closed the door behind him and moved the five steps needed to enter the kitchen. "Work is good and I haven´t been mugged in five days. I could say it is a win so far." he guided the man to the table and decided to leave the alcohol for later. Artist always said alcohol was good for inspiration. He took the two mismatched cups from the cupboard and started making coffee as Archie got comfortable.
It was funny how he made friends so easily and he was so glad for it. Without all the interesting people he knew his life would have been as boring as a boiled potato. So far he had meet a profesor that was willing to give him some history classes and a man who seemed to share with point of view about the city and it´s future. But Archie was by far his favorite people. He was happy to have someone with so much imagination giving him a time free of reality once in a while. "Have you written anything good lately?"
He took the the cookies from and threw them to the table without thinking about grabbing clean plates. He had washed all the dirty dishes from the restaurant and he wasn´t feeling like cleaning any more that night.
