It was one of those days where one couldn't help but lounge around and relax after a long day of work. Though while most people in Gatsberry were probably hitting the bars, Eric was tucked away in his corner of the library browsing through the city's historical archives. It wasn't exactly the most exciting thing to study and he wouldn't blame anyone who said so. But he was a firm believer in how history tends to repeat itself, and it wasn't a secret that the town was struggling. Then again, it had been for years; though where it all began to go downhill was the question.
"There's gotta be some connection in all of this," Eric muttered as he closed yet another biography, adding it to the growing pile of books on the table. The last thing he wanted was for the citizens of Gatsberry to get pulled into some dangerous territory, and while he was fine with putting aside his feelings to bring the city out of it's previously ruined state a few years ago when Korso had offered to rebuild the town, it now seemed to be merely a facade of fun and entertainment in front of an ugly truth that was slowly increasing.
And if we don't do something about it now, it's only going to get worse, Eric thought with a slight frown as he sat down in one of the chairs at the table, resting his head in the palm of his hand. He just hoped his previous choice to go along with Don Korso's plan in order to protect the people wouldn't wind up being one of his biggest regrets.
Sighing slightly, he closed the rest of the books in front of him and leaned back in his seat, taking a glance around the library. As usual, it was rather empty, save for a few stragglers that walked here and there before leaving the building with one or two novels in their hands. You just love books too much, Eric laughed inwardly at himself as he surveyed the place. You're in here way too often! Though he supposed it wasn't too bad as it gave him time to think for himself when he wasn't out teaching, either at the university or out on the streets. Plus it was a good opportunity to meet people who loved learning or had a desire to know things as much as he did.
