"Do not offer me love? For a Harlot that doesn't exist."

It was just another night on the town. People talking, laughing, zoned into their own world and being oblivious. Chel was usually one of those people but tonight she wasn't. She was focused on her surroundings. She wanted to see the town tonight, the people, and experience it. She had decided not to work today, she just wanted a day where she can relax. She was craving a drink the whole day so she ventured out to find one. She decided on going to the The Devil's Eye. She thought she could maybe meet a few interesting people there. She made her way down 2nd St. She moved her hair out of her face as she entered the establishment. The Devil's Eye, that is a unique name choice. She thought to herself, glancing around. It was a dark lighted area with music playing all around. There were people dancing, having conversations and expressing their love for one another with PDA. She rolled her eyes, chuckling at the sight. She made her way over to the bar and sat down. She debated on what drink she wanted. She hasn't drank since the party. She thought back on the party and the fight she had witnessed. She brought her palm to her face, sighing deeply and muttered to herself, "Those loonies." She went back to focusing on what she wanted to drink. She tilted her head and thought to herself, South Side Fizz or a Gin Rickey... She kept debating for a moment and then said to herself, "I could always get both." The bartender came over, "A South Side Fizz, please." She ordered and smiled at him as he rushed off to make the drink. She wrapped her shawl around her and felt relaxed now. She peaked at what she was wearing and hoped she didn't feel to out of place. She threw it all together and didn't even check to see what she looked like. Oh well. She thought to herself. She peaked around to see all the people, enjoying seeing it all, she always got comfort out of it sometimes.

James was out and about, walking around the city. He was off work and decided to get out of the house for some. Peaking around the city, he sighed some. It was always so dark and damp here. Hardly any excitement and he needed some right now. He continued to walk, fixing his hat. As he walked, he heard some laughter coming from a little bar called the Devil's Eye. He stopped some, staring at it. " Drinking, dancing, people, why not? " He shrugged. It may not be the excitement he was looking for but, hey, at least it's something.
He started to walk in, tilting his hat to the body guard at the entrance. The room was filled with people, some dancing, some making out, typical bar. He chuckled, shaking his head some. He stopped, taking a look at the place, scratching his chin. This place wasn't so bad, kind of looked fun. Hopefully, he would end up finding a new acquaintance tonight. He started to take his jacket off, feeling a nice breeze as he did. It was kind of hot in the place and the smell of alcohol was tempting to him. He started to walk to the end of the bar and sat down, peaking at the bartender, " Give me a South Side Fizz, please. " He winked at him and the bartender nodded, going off to make the drink. He took his hat off and sat it on the chair next to him, along with his jacket. He leaned against the bar some, peaking at the people at the bar. His eyes stopped when he spotted a woman. She was very attractive, silky raven hair pinned up with a unique head piece. Her dress was a cream color, with a very unique shaw over her shoulders. He couldn't seem to stop staring at her.
" Wow, " He thought to himself. He has seen a lot of women in his day but, not like this one. He peaked down finally and smiled to himself. She seemed lonely over there and he was debating on going over there to give her some company. He wanted to wait to make sure she was completely alone first.

She continued to peak around and focused on a group of people. They seemed to be having fun and had way to much to drink. She never minded when people were acting out when they were drunk. It was quite humorous to her. She giggled a little bit and turned her attention to the bar tender approaching. She saw him sit the drink down and smiled big saying, "Thank you, handsome." She couldn't help but smile a little bit.
She watched the bartender walk over to another man and noticed him. She focused on him for a moment and smiled, raising her hand slightly. She was never afraid to say hello to anyone. He seemed like a nice man. He had dark hair, dark eyes and a beautiful smile. From what he was wearing he seemed pretty flashy, probably works for a good company and makes decent pay. She grinned a little bit, knowing she was working by evaluating him. No. Work. Tonight. Chel. She thought to herself.
She picked up her drink and began to sip on it. She felt completely relaxed when she took the first drink. Yes, this was definitely worth not working. She focused back on the group dancing again. She remembered when she used to dance around the house with her brother constantly. She would dress him up in their mother's old clothes and they would put on a show. The parents always enjoyed it and laughed. It seemed like such an easy time back then. She sometimes missed those days of being a child, no responsibilities and dreaming.
She couldn't help but peak over at the man across the bar again, noticing he had the same drink as her. It made her grin a little, she turned her body to face in his direction, looking over at him and mouthed, "Good taste." She motioned to the drink and widened her eyes, doing a thumbs up. She giggled and peaked back over at the intoxicated dancers.

James peaked over at her once again, seeing her smile at the bartender. He peaked down at her drink and saw she got the same thing as him, it made him smirk a little. The bartender soon came over to his location, giving him his drink. He gave him a big smile and grabbed it, taking a drink. He loved the taste in his mouth, it was just what he needed. He took another sip and smiled to himself a little, " Damn, that's good. " He knew he wasn't going to be able to stop after this and he didn't even care. He was going to enjoy this day off, no stress and no worries.
He peaked over, seeing the group of dancers. He raised an eyebrow and pressed the glass cup to his lips. He didn't get really get that interested in it and directed his eyes back to the woman. His full attention was on her now. He took a sip and kept the drink in his hand. He then noticed her peak at him, like she was staring at him too. He saw her mouth, " Good taste. " He chuckled a little at her, raising his cup at her. He was now intrigued with her, he knew now he had to talk to her. He grabbed his hat and jacket along with his drink and made his way to her. He sat his stuff in the empty chair and decided to stand. He turned to her, leaning against the bar, staring at her. She looked even better up close but, he didn't make his eyes wander very much.
" Nice to know someone here has a good taste in drinks, " He tilted his head at her, flashing her a smile.

Chel watched as the man walked over to her. She was sure he would after she complimented him on his taste of drinks. He took a moment to examine him again and smiled. Okay, he is kind of handsome. She grinned slightly because of her thoughts. She actually called someone handsome for once. The shocking part was that she meant it. She watched as he placed his things down in the empty chair and peaked at them. She stared up at him as he turned around and listened to what he had to say,
" Nice to know someone here has a good taste in drinks, " He tilted his head at her, flashing her a smile.
She giggled and then said, "Same for you, bucko." She lifted her drink, tilting it some, motioning it in his direction. "So, what brings you to The Devil's Eye?" She became playful because of the name. She widened her eyes, giving a dramatic facial expression. She giggled some and then took a sip of her drink. She waited for his answer. Hard day at work? Day off? Drinker? She was thinking about the options that he could tell her. She was debating on his character, also. She never judged a person's character to quick. They might seem nice. The key word there was seem. She took her shawl off and tied it around her waist and let it droop.
"Could it have been a hard day at work?" She pointed to a man that seemed exhausted that she could use as a reference. The man seemed like a business man and still had his work clothes on too. "Day off or a drinker?" She pointed to a man in a business suit that was completely wasted. She used him as a reference for both because it seemed to be the case for that choice. She smiled and then spun around and motioned to the dancers, Or are you a dancer?" She did a small dance, moving her hands, and still being seated in her chair. She was teasing him but was asking sincerely. She turned back to him, raising an eyebrow, waiting in anticipation for the answer.

" Same for you, bucko. " He chuckled at that comment. She seemed like a tease which made him get intrigued with her more. He liked playful girls, laid back and who like to have fun. She seemed to fit that description. He took another sip of his drink and kept it at his lips, hearing her once again, " So, what brings you to The Devil's Eye? " James peaked down some and smirked. A lot of things brought him here. His work, his craving for alcohol, him wanting to avoid home. He stared off some, thinking about it. He was never the type to sit around, he liked to go out and have some fun. If he was stuck in the house, it would drive him crazy. Work already does that to him, having to deal with people in his big office or dealing with cars. He peaked back at her, smiling at her once more. At least, he was out and knew he would have some company tonight.
He watched her as she playfully pointed at other men, and his eyes went towards the directions she was pointing. He raised his eyebrow when she did a little dance at him and shook his head, chucking softly. " Work, not wanting to be at home, " He raised his glass, " My obsessive craving for alcoholic beverages. " He shrugged at her. He peaked back at the man dancing and stared some, " Dancing, not really. " He watched the man as he was looking like an idiot, breaking it out like today was his last day. He smirked and peaked back at her, staring into her hazel eyes. He kind of lost his thought for a second, staring at her. She was so stunning. He peaked down, regaining himself and cleared his throat, " How about you, m'lady? What brings you into this bar? " He peaked back up at her, taking another sip of his drink.

She listened to him and became a little curious,
" Work, not wanting to be at home, " " My obsessive craving for alcoholic beverages. " " Dancing, not really. "
She could understand the home situation. There are many reason's on why someone would not want to be home. They don't want to be alone, deal with family drama, maybe to them home wasn't home. She shook her head and said, "I cant relate to the home issue." She didn't want to stay on that topic for long. She didn't want to get to personal with this man. She thought on the topic once more. It was always horrible reason's and she could always relate to them. She then thought about the alcoholic reason. She piped up saying, "Well, I was right on the drinker part?" She snapped her fingers, scrunching up her nose, saying, "Damn, really thought you were a dancer one too!" She laughed as she continued to tease him.
She actually was hoping for the dancer answer. She thought to herself, Hm, maybe he can't dance? A grin came across her face, she got a hold of an idea and there was no stopping it now, "So, tell me more about this "Dancing, not really" I happen to think it is great." She peaked at the dancing drunks once more and turned back to him. "ESPECIALLY," She raised a finger to bring more emphasis, "When you drink." She shrugged and smiled again.
She listened to his question and then smiled a little bit. "I chose to drink and not to work today. Best decision of my life." She laughed some and then peaked over at him again. She stood up and turned to him and said, "Could it be that you can't dance?" She raised an eyebrow wondering what his response could be. Did he not learn to dance when he was young? Did he not see others do this or participate in it? She had to know the answer. She was probably going to get him to dance. There was no turning back now. She was going to manage to have this happen one way or another.

James stared at her, tilting his head at her. She related to him. He never was fully happy stuck at home, its sad to think. It made him peak down and sigh softly. Taking another drink and sat the empty glass down. He peaked at her when he heard the subject change, he chuckled at her, "Yeah, I like my alcohol. Keeps me sane from all the craziness of this place. " He shrugged, he was an alcoholic, but he didn't want to go that far into that conversation. " Damn, really thought you were a dancer one too! " He really was never the one to dance. He would always be the one to lay back and watch, laughing in the distance. He tried to dance with Genevieve once and all he did was step on her toes. He peaked down, finding it kind of embarrassing to say. He continued to stare at her, listening.
" I chose to drink and not to work today. Best decision of my life. " He stared at her, " Really now? What do you do for work? " He was very intrigued with her, he wanted to know as much as he can about her. " Could it be that you can't dance? " He did a nervous grin and looked down, scratching the back of his neck. He really didn't want to tell this attractive woman that he couldn't dance. That may turn out bad on his part. He sighed and just sucked it up, " Sadly no, 99.9% of the time I step on feet. There is no hope for me, ma'am. " He smirked a little then peaked over at the bartender, lifting his empty glass, giving him the sign he wants another. He peaked back at her, she looked determined. " Oh god, please don't tell me she wants to go dance. " He bit his lip some and peaked down a little.

She smiled some while listening to him ask her about work. She grabbed her drink and brought it to her lips again. She didn't want to get on the topic of her current occupation. She learned the hard way about telling someone about her occupation. She was humiliated and degraded in front of multiple people. She had never been so embarrassed in her life, she wasn't going to relive that event again. She smiled and said, "I am a sales woman!" She put the drink down and turned around before he could ask anymore about it and said, "But," She put a finger up towards him and grinned, "no more work talk. That is the rule!" She laughed a little bit. She listened on how he went on about him not being able to dance,
" Sadly no, 99.9% of the time I step on feet. There is no hope for me, ma'am. "
Chel said, "Oh really?" She questioned him, becoming determined with the challenge, "There is no hope for, ma'am." She spun around and grinned saying, "No, no, no! There is hope actually!" She gently grabbed his hand and tugged him a little bit, "I have been told I am a fantastic teacher!" She winked and said, "One of the best, actually." She laughed again and tugged once more. She walked out onto the floor and said, "Come on," She dragged out the on. "I promise you, you won't regret it!" She placed her hands on her hips, smiling over at him, she playfully did a little spin and motioned for him to come to her once more. She began to bounce a little bit and shimmy some. She was waiting for him and wouldn't take no as an answer.

James raised an eyebrow at her, " A sales woman, huh? " He smirked some, she seemed a little hesitant, maybe she wasn't telling him what she really did. He shook his head, he didn't care either way. He saw her finger go up and peaked at her, " no more work talk. That is the rule! " He nodded in agreement to her, he didn't want to talk about his job either. Just the thought of it made him aggravated.
He watched her get immediately excited as he told her he couldn't dance. She was spinning around and he just smirked at her. She was so cute. He shook his head some and the bartender gave him another drink, he grabbed it and took another sip. " No, no, no! There is hope actually! I have been told I am a fantastic teacher! " He widened his eyes some, feeling her tug him close to the dance floor. He immediately felt nervous once more, " Great, she wants to dance. Good going, James. " He rolled his eyes at himself. Now, he is going to embarrass himself in front of this woman.
He stood there still as she was shimming and spinning around. He chuckled some at her, " What a woman, " he thought to himself. He wasn't going to move a muscle, " I don't know why you dragged me out here, I refuse to dance. "

She raised an eyebrow when he said, "I don't know why you dragged me out here, I refuse to dance." She rolled her eyes with a grin still spread across her lips still. She just put her hands up and said, "You don't have to move a muscle... Yet." She smiled big and said, "I'll show you some moves first, alright?" She stepped back some and held up her hand, "We'll start with the simple snap," She began to walk and snap to the beat of the music. She laughed some, walking around him saying, "The simplest move but still always works for the beginners."
She made her way back around him continuing to snap. She stopped and crossed her arms and said, "Okay, now if you try the snap move I promise to not make a dramatic scene." She shrugged and widened her eyes. She couldn't help but smile. She didn't know if he would actually comply or not. She never had a problem with making a scene and it is something her brother and her did a lot.
She picked it up from him a couple of years ago. It seemed to work and it was a lot of fun doing it too. She was never embarrassed easily and always loved seeing people put on the spot so she wouldn't mind doing this to-... She paused for a second tilting her head, I never got his name. She didn't know if she should ask for it or not. She always was used to not learning information about people but I guess tonight was different. She already decided to make one new friend, another one couldn't hurt... Right?

James smirked softly at her, watching her as she told him he didn't have to move a muscle. Which he wasn't planning to anyways. He raised an eyebrow some and listened to her, " I'll show you some moves first, alright? We'll start with the simple snap. The simplest move but still always works for the beginners." He nodded, watching her feet and body as she showed him. He watched her as she started to go around him and shook his head, laughing a little. He never thought he would be learning how to dance, especially now. But, life seems to be full of surprises. He kept his eyes on her, studying her as she was playing around. " She just keeps getting better and better, " He thought to himself. He peaked down and smirked a little.
" Okay, now if you try to snap move I promise to not make a dramatic scene. " He peaked at her, then tilted his head back and let out a big 'HA.' He peaked back at her, now teasing with her. She really thought he was going to try and dance in front of all these people. They were already staring and he was going to look like a total idiot. " Mmm, I dunno. You may be lying to me. Who knows?, " He started to look around, continuing to tease, " What if I do it so stupid the newspaper people will write about it and I'll be the laughing stock of this whole city. " He peaked back at her and smirked. He knew she wasn't going to stop until he did it. He peaked down and then let out a drawn out sigh, peaking back into her hazel eyes.
" Alright, alright. I'm going to trust you, " He stepped back some and peaked at him. He started to snap to the beat of the music and started to do a little shimmy like she did to him to tease with her, " Like this? " He started to go around her, continuing to snap to the beat and when he got around her, he wiggled his eyebrows staring at her. He never thought he would act so stupid but, this girl seemed to bring out another side of him.

She widened her eyes, bursting out in laughter as he did the overly dramatic "Ha". She knew this was going to be a tough cookie to crack but she didn't mind. She tilted her head and crossed her arms, studying him once more.
"Mmm, I dunno. You may be lying to me. Who knows?, " He started to look around, continuing to tease her, " What if I do it so stupid the newspaper people will write about it and I'll be the laughing stock of this whole city. "
She shrugged and said, "Well, you'll be famous, maybe gain popularity for about a week. Then something else will happen and you'll be last weeks news." She raised her hand and did an anxious smile saying "No offense." She began to giggle again from her not intentional insult. It was true though. People are in the news for about a week and then something else happens and it is like it never happened. She focused on him again, "Not saying you're not hot stuff to make it another week. I'm just stating facts here." She listened to him say,
" Alright, alright. I'm going to trust you, "
She widened her eyes, knowing that she had won and waited for him to dance. She smiled big, raising her hands, and doing a thumb up when he seemed to begin. He began to snap to the beat of the music. She did a not bad face as he continued to dance. He began to do the shimmy and it caught her off guard. She saw it, it caused her to burst out into laughter. She couldn't believe she got this man to loosen up this much. One second ago he was Mr. I won't dance if my life depended on it and now he is I have been dancing since I was born. She teased back and began to shimmy some. She watched as he moved around her.
"Like this?" He asked.
She nodded her head and said, "Just like that, Mister!" She grabbed his hands and then slowly began to lead him into a dance. "Take a step back, then kick, take a step forward and kick." She began to lead him into the dance. She didn't mind leading, it was how she taught her younger brother. She knew how to make it look like he was leading, that way no one would notice anyways. She continued to dance with him and he was really doing it. She smiled big and looked up, "Look, you're doing it!" She said excitedly. "And you said there was no hope." She muttered out, grinning, and peaking up at him. She stepped away and did a spin being playful, then went back into his arms, and continued to dance.
This night was going better than she expected. She thought she would just be getting a quiet night with a drink. It was what she had wanted. She ended up getting so much more. She had company, that is possibly a new friend, and she was okay with it. She wasn't used to this but she didn't mind it. In fact, she loved it. She smiled to herself thinking about the night and began to let him lead.

James smirked, hearing her playfully teasing but, bluntly telling him about the newspaper thing. She was right, the newspaper always has new stories every single week. Making people forget about each story as a new one comes. He then widened his eyes a little, " Not saying you're not hot stuff to make it another week. I'm just stating facts here. " " Hot stuff, huh?, " he chuckled to himself and continued to playfully dance around her. Being quite stupid but, at this point he didn't care.
He laughed with her as she started to watch what he was doing and then, shook his head when she shimmied with him. He didn't think this part of him would ever come out. He was just paying attention to her. He didn't care about people watching or anything else. He just knew he was going to have some fun. " Just like that, Mister! " He smiled some at her saying that. He let her grab his hands as she started to lead him to a new dance. He became nervous once more but, he was paying attention, listening to her direct him on how to move. " Take a step back, then kick, take a step forward and kick. " He seemed to got the hang of it after a few times doing it. He was actually dancing. He never in a million years would see himself doing this.
" Look, you're doing it! And you said there was no hope. "
He smiled and lifted his arm up, letting her spin and then pulled her back into him when she started to come back to him. He started to dance with her again, moving his body side to side, making her follow him, going in a circle some. He chuckled a little, letting her spin out and did a jazz hand to be funny with his free hand while he held onto her hand. He then pulled her back and then dipped her some, and swung her body to come back up to him, face to face. He stared at her for some, smirking, " You were telling the truth, you are a good teacher. " He chuckled and started to slow dance with her some, since the song changed.
