Cruella was out attending a business lunch with a patron of hers. Asami had set up the reservation herself. She had a few hours to herself to finish her work for the woman and have her own lunch - a meager ration of bread and cheese - the best the woman could afford when paying off her father's gambling debts. She was working on the letters, nibbling on her rations. Working for Cruella wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best either. However, she did enjoy it when the woman left for business and let Asami use the main office for her work. She clicked away on the typewriter for the letters of the three women Cruella was letting go. It was unfortunate, but they had been caught trying to perform at rival theaters. It was only business after all. Cruella had to look out for herself.

Anita clutched her wrap tighter around herself as she walked through the front doors of the theater after handing the woman at the counter her ticket. It was both thrilling and strange to be going to the theater unaccompanied; usually she had either Philly, Artemis, or at least some kind of date with her. But today Philly was off at work in the hospital, and Artemis didn't appear to be home when she went to go check if she wanted to come along.
Must be out shopping or something, Anita mused as she made her way down the aisles, giving small waves and friendly smiles towards the people that recognized her and called out her name in excited whispers. It always made Anita feel good to hear people talk about her like she was a big star, even though she hadn't been acting for very long. Particularly because she was still a teenager and constantly struggled with her own self-doubts about her image and her talent like any normal fifteen-year-old girl. Except the fact that she was thrown into the spotlight so young certainly didn't help her gain too much self-confidence, as it was near impossible to meet MGM's standards.
Sometimes it bothered her that she was so young compared to some other actresses that were much older and more grown-up than she was. The studio liked Anita due to the fact that she was talented at her craft, but occasionally, Anita couldn't help but wonder if maybe they only picked her because she looked mature while still being incredibly young.
It can't really be helped, I guess, she thought with a small frown before shaking her head slightly. At least now I get to look forward to some theater performances! She was excited for some fun after the less-than-exciting night she had at the lounge. But as she started to walk towards the doors, she was immediately bombarded with reporters and other ladies and gents holding pieces of paper in their hands.
"Miss Page, can I get a comment about your newest film?" "Look over here, Doll! I want to get a good photograph for the next magazine spread." "You're so pretty, Anita! Can I please have an autograph?"
Uh oh, Anita thought as she gave the group a timid smile. "I'm sorry, I'm currently busy at the moment. Excuse me." She started to try and brush past the crowd but due to how small she was, she wound up getting caught in yet another group of people. Normally she had someone to help her fend off the crowds, but seeing as she came alone today, she was on her own now.
Squeezing her way through two gentleman with cameras and breaking away from the rest of the men and women, she made her way quickly through the halls and down a few steps, turning around a sharp corner when she noticed a hallway set off to the side that appeared to lead backstage. Rushing over and down the carpeted floors, she noticed several doors on either side and attempted to open them. Most of the handles refused to budge however, and she could hear the people getting closer to her position.
Oh please be open, she thought as she tried a particularly large door. The handle easily turned and the door swung open, with Anita not taking a second of hesitation in slipping inside and shutting it behind her.
Though embarrassingly enough, as she turned around so that her back was now against the door, she saw she wasn't alone in the room. "Oh," she said, feeling the blush rush into her cheeks. "I am so sorry for intruding! I was just-" She turned towards the door, watching the shadows of people walking past the window until she couldn't hear their footsteps anymore. "I needed a place to hide for a moment. I really hope you don't mind." She gave the woman in front of her an apologetic smile, her face feeling red as a tomato.

"O-Oh!"
It had surprised her to see the doors burst open with urgency and a young woman fling herself inside only to slam the doors shut. Luckily, it hadn't caused her to mistype anything on her letters, otherwise, she would have to start all over again. Which was not good. She was almost done so it was best not to ruin good work. One more letter and then all of the tasks for Cruella would be finished and she could just enjoy her quiet time until the woman got back.
"It's quite alright." Asami assured the young woman.
She got from her desk, taking a deep breath and trying to regain herself. She had a reputation to think of after all as Cruella's assistant. She wasn't worth her salt if she panicked over a simple situation as this. She got up from her seat, straightening her dress as she did so and moved around the desk. The poor girl seemed absolutely shaken by whomever had been chasing her.
"Are you okay?" she asked.

Anita could feel her heart pounding as she tried to calm down from the situation, though it was becoming even more difficult with her embarrassment of running into someone's office that was currently occupied. You're such a dumb Dora, Anita chastised herself as she continued to give the lady an apologetic look. Stupid stupid stupid! Though she supposed the situation could have been worse: the crowds she was escaping could have been larger or less friendly... and at least being in the office where she was now, it didn't look like the woman who was now moving around the desk and towards her seemed to be offended by the sudden intrusion much to Anita's relief.
"Are you okay?" she asked as she approached, and Anita quickly raised her hand, readjusting her wrap with the other.
"No no no, I'm okay!" she insisted, smiling over at the woman as she struggled to put on a more confident air about her. However, the red in her cheeks were still bright and evident, giving away her true feelings of embarrassment. "I was... just a little startled, that's all." She tried to shrug away the situation, clearing her throat a little as she spoke.
"I'm Anita, by the way. Anita Page," she continued as she extended her hand out. "And you are?"

"Asami Sato." she replied, shaking the young woman's hand.
She had insisted she was fine, so Asami was inclined to believe her. She knew best after all. Still, she looked frazzled enough. She would need some time to recollect her thoughts. Take a deep breath to regain her composure. There was time and Cruella wasn't in to breathe down the girl's neck. Anita could rest in her office, hideout from whomever was bothering her. She motioned for Anita to take a seat.
"Would you like to sit down?" she asked.
So her lunch wasn't going to be as quiet as she hoped. She still got a lot of work done, but she wasn't going to turn the girl out when whoever had chased her in there could still be lurking the halls. No. So it seemed she would have to share whatever time she had left, at least until Cruella came back.
