History:
Kenai’s life was something that you could call average when he was first brought into the world. He had a good family it seemed. A loving mother and a determined father. It seemed like he was set and was going to have a great life. People behind him to help him through life, making tough decisions, there to catch him when he fell. A great household, a beautiful neighborhood, sweet neighbors, good schooling and great income. It seemed like the perfect family.
That is what it looked like.
It wasn’t.
Kenai’s father was involved in crime, smuggling, murders and more. He was involved with the Crooked Man. Kenai’s mother was a good woman with morals. She hid Kenai from his father’s lifestyle. They always said that he was a business man.
As years went by, Kenai started to notice patterns of his father. The private phone calls, the late-night meetings, the arguments with his mother and more. He knew his father was involved into deadly business. He wished he wasn’t involved. He didn’t want his family to be in potential danger at all. He was always thinking of his mother when he had these feelings though.
Later, he became closer with his father. He discovered his involvement with the crooked man. He became interested in the tasks he had to do. It made him become involved. It also meant that he was now known of. His father was weary of his son’s involvement and knowledge of all of this and decided to teach him his way. He wanted him to learn how to protect himself and fight. Every day he would teach him. They worked with hand to hand, knives, guns and more. He was soon excellently train in fighting. His father worked with senses and thinking. He wanted his son to be able to react calmly to a situation and know a way to get himself out of a problem. He taught him with obstacles and getaways too. He wanted his son to know how to escape a place too. Now he can almost take on any task handed to him.
Down the road, horrible events started to occur. His father had been murdered. He was murdered by being involved in some plot with the crooked man. Kenai didn’t have a chance to know any information. He didn’t know anything until he was contacted and was recruited by him. They had faith in Kenai because of his father’s status. They saw a lot of his father in him.
He agreed to join because he wanted a way to provide for his mother. She was all he had. He loved her dearly, he wanted her to smile again. To find joy in life. To be positive like she always used to tell him to be. He wanted to make sure she was taken care of. Sadly, she passed away from health issues soon after his father. The last thing she told him was, “Never grow bitter, Kenai. Love, stay determined and remain positive.” He always remembers what she says and thinks on them. He has one thing of hers; an ear ring she had. He wears it everywhere as a reminder of her. Now all has is working for the Crooked Man. He worked his way up to being a Caporegime and is loyal to him. He grew close to the people involved and look to them as family now.
Family meant everything to him.
Nothing would harm his family.
