Name: Annie Hughes Age: 25 Alignment: Neutral.
Appearance: Curly red hair, falling just below the middle of her back, but usually up in a loose bun style. Her eyes are a dull grey/green colour and her skin is pasty and pale, betraying her irish heretige to most with a keen eye. She doesn't fit the boyish silhouette that is popular in todays fashion scene, having been punished for showing such vanity in her family home she never got in the habbit of following such things. Instead she is slim but slightly curvier on the hips and the bosom. Though slim her stomach is a fold of stretched skin riplling back in on itself, the evidence that her son came into this world.
Personality: Annie is at her core, a kind person, but she plays her cards close to her chest. She dislikes being disrespected but know when to keep her head down, some might say she does so too often. She very rarely socialises, but does her best not to be rude to people around her. If by chance you can become close to her, you may see a side of her that is whimsical and adventurous, but it has been many years since she embraced that side of herself now.
History: Annie is third generation Irish Catholic, and the 5th of 9 children. Her family were poor, cramped, but for the most part comfortable. Her father worked hard at a steelworks factory while her mother stayed home caring for their brood. They went to church every sunday and were good, God fearing citizens. All of this simply made it hurt so much more when an amorous tryst with a young man left Annie with a babe in her belly and scornful parents. Shunned for her sin, she was homeless, sleeping in a cardboard box, the nature of her sin becoming more evident with each passing day. It was only by the kindness and understanding of one of her younger brothers that she survived. He packed her a suitcase with her clothes, what little valuables and money had been in her possession, and their mothers wedding band. She managed to get a small dingy apartment on the other side of town, using her mother's wedding band to pose as a young army wife, and got herself a job working at a cafe nearby. She scrimped and saved every penny til the day her baby arrived. Things were rough but she loved that child, such a perfect thing had never entered the world before her eyes fell onto her Harry. So small, so strong, so beautiful. And she loved him unconditionally. Almost 11 months she managed to stretch the money she made, but nothing lasts forever and she needed to keep a roof over her and her babies head. So she went back to work, leaving her precious 11 month old asleep at home to work the graveyard shift in the cafe across the street. When questioned on why she was back, Annie claimed her pretend husband had died in an accident on a routine patrol. She had another few months of this working quite well with her bundle of joy none the wiser to his mother's nightly absence. Until Harry got sick. Annie thought it was just a cold, but it soon became very much more than that. Harry developed pneumonia and left this earth in the early hours of one Saturday morning. Annie held him for hours til the coroner arrived, too devastated to let him go a moment sooner. Over the next 5 years her life continued and the pain dulled a little but never really left her, she doubted it would.
