Things were starting to finally come together for Dean, after a few rocky first weeks. It was surprisingly hard to find a place to stay at in Gatsberry while having no job, especially considering how down on his savings he was when he first got to the city. He was fortunate enough to find himself hosted in Hotel Aquila for a rather generous price, courtesy of Miss Harris. Sure, she demanded some favors of him, but he was not one to complain, especially given how he needed a place to live in. He was never picky.
After looking around well enough, he was surprised to see how very few able drivers were around in Gatsberry. Most of them seemed to have their own business or be connected to something else, so he had managed to do some one-off jobs whenever he could, and things were starting to shape up well enough.
Proof of this was the guy he had been hired to work for. James Buchanan was apparently one of the higher ups in the city, at least when it came to not having connections to the underworld, it seemed. The guy needed a driver for the day, Dean needed the money. It was simple enough, and so was the job per se: drive his wife around where she needed to go.
He was now awaiting for said wife to come and meet up with him, the car parked right where he had been instructed to. On that day, he had chosen a more casual attire, dropping his usual overcoat and hat and choosing to come with merely a pale white shirt held in place by dark suspenders and light brown pants. His sleeves rolled up, he was casually poffing some smoke out his cigarette, waiting to get started in what seemed to be a good pay day.

Jenny sighed as she wiped tears from her eyes. She had heard her husband was spotted with his mistress in public. Which was a big insult to her. She had just finished throwing a fit and was now in her room letting her maids and butler clean up the other. Jenny sat at her vanity, refusing to look at it. She wanted to be calm to fix her makeup. Apparently her husband wanted her to look her absolute best, he wanted to take her out tonight. There was a new fancy restaurant that had opened, and he wanted to be the first one there. Which frustrated her. "How dare he think I'd want to go with him after going off with that whore.." Jenny gasped before wiping more tears. She then shook her head and slapped her cheeks. "Okay, Jenny, get yourself together. You have to go, it's your duty." She said before she took a big sigh and looked at the mirror. Jenny almost gasped at how she looked. Mascara ran down her face and her cheeks were bright red. She cursed as she got up to get something to wipe her face off. Once her face was clean she went back to her vanity and stared at herself in the mirror. Slowly her distressed expression turned into an emotionless one. She proceeded to pick up her powder and covered her face. Next she put on her eyeshadow and mascara. So far her makeup was subtle but dramatic, which worked for her. Jenny then picked up her lipstick and ran the red color along her lips. Once her makeup was done, she adjusted it just a little to make it absolutely perfect. She then got up and went to her closet and looked for the perfect dress. She stared at her choices for a bit before her eyes fell upon one of her beautiful, lacey, long white dress that she hadn't wore yet. It screamed and demanded attention. It was one of her most expensive dresses due to how complex the design was. She quickly took it off the rack and changed into it. She fixed her breasts in it before she left it alone and let it fall over her slender body. She then walked back to the vanity and did her hair. She curled it and then put a headpiece on. Next was the shoes, which she went with simple white heels. She was done now. Jenny picked up her purse before leaving her room. "Make sure the room is back to how it looked before. And if any one of you tells my husband about my fit, I'll fire you and make sure your children are homeless! It better be spotless when we come back." Jenny yelled, clearly taking her anger out on the poor maids. She then left the home and stopped when she saw the ride her husband has sent for her. "Great, it's the white one.. Which means he wants to make up for what he knows I heard." Jenny thought to herself before she looked at the man who was next to it. Her blue eyes blinked a little at how handsome the man was, and how cool he looked while smoking his cigarette. Now she wish she could share one with him. Maybe she should bring him back into the house? Give her husband a taste of his own medicine? Jenny quickly shook that idea away from her head as she lifted up her dress and walked down the stairs and towards the man. She was still trying to hold her composure as she strutted to the man. Once she got to him she gave him a little curtsy. "You must be the new driver my husband called for, the name is Genevieve, Genevieve Buchanan. But you can call me Jenny for short." Jenny said as she held out her hand for him to kiss. (Dress can be found here, and car can be found here as well)

Dean did not mind waiting for his passenger. In fact, he was quite enjoying the view of the enormous residence in front of him. Everything seemed so well built and taken care of that he wondered just how poorly the town's wealth was being distributed. He had talked to that Peter boy a couple of weeks before, and had seen how poor and miserable his state seemed to be. For what he had heard, the kid even slept in an abandoned shelter near the docks. Yet, here he was, looking at what could only be described as a mannor. A true paradise.
Watching the smoke from his cigarette slowly fade into the air above him, Dean narrowed his eyes upon having his piece disrupted by what seemed like a loud noise inside of the house. Someone was yelling at something, which made him figure out that he was still in the real world. Some poor soul had probably done their job poorly and wre now getting reprimanded. He pitied the souls that subjected themselves to that, but respected what people had to do in order to survive.
His attention was called back into the world of sight when he noticed the silhouette of a female walking towads him. Surely she was the wife of Mister Buchanan, judging by how sharply she was dressed. Sharp was an inadequate word, when Dean thought on it. Outwordly seemed far more adequate, were he to take in the sight before him. The woman truly dressed like a queen, everything about here screaming for grace and attention of those around her. No doubt her husband seemed to pamper her the way he did. She was something else.
In spite of having grown in a rather poor neighborhood, Dean knew how to behave, so he quickly put out his cigarette, eyes still fixated on the blonde beauty in snow white. He knew how to be professional, but he'd be lying if he said he had not slightly been caught of guard, even if his expression did not let it show at all. What he displayed was a professional, yet friendly smile curved up on his lips as she introduced herself to him, with a name that sounded as expensive as the world she lived in.
He almost hesitated when she held her hand out for him to kiss, but knew better and knew he'd have to get used to this, so he gently held her wrist with his own hand and planted a gentle kiss slightly above her knuckles before looking up and standing upright once again, like a true professional.
"The name's Dean, pleasure to meet you, Ma'am." he introduced himself in a rather simple manner, smiling calmly at her even if he was amused at the fact she asked him to call her by a nickname. It was understandable, seeing how complicated her name sounded to most workers. With a gentle movement, he opened the door designated for his worker's wife, giving her enough room to step in in the best way he could assure before walking to the front seat.
Adjusting the car's mirror a bit, he smiled slightly before leaning back on his seat. "So where to, ma'am?"

"Pleasure to meet you as well Dean. And may I ask if there is a last name to that name?" Jenny asked with a bright smile. Though the smile was a bit forced, she did not feel happy one bit. She was out of her comfort zone, she wasn't in her room where she wanted to be. She wanted to cry and let all of her emotions out. She always did this so she could go back to being normal. But today wasn't those days, so she had to put on a face. It was already going to be a long evening.
Jenny watched as he moved to the side and opened the door for her. "Thank you." She said as she got into the car and adjusted herself in the back seat. She sat down all ladylike with her purse on her lap with her hands on top. She was a real wonder to look at when she showed off how lady like she could be. She barely saw other women act like ladies, so she always made sure to look her best. Plus she knew if she did anything it would fall back onto her husband, and that would mean a even longer evening. Which wouldn't be good.
"To the Blue Lagoon, the new restaurant that has just opened please." She said before she leaned gently against the seat while she looked out of the window now.
Once the car started and they started driving, Jenny became quiet as she got swept away by her own thoughts. As they drove she started to see lots of couples walking around. Normally she wouldn't give a care about all of the couples, but today she was starting to see more and more.. It was getting to her. The happy looks on their faces, the love they spewed out, it was pulling on her heart.
Her hand silently hovered over her stomach as she started to feel the tears form. Why couldn't she have that? She needed that. She hadn't told James about the baby cause she was sure he wouldn't care. He wouldn't leave his whore for her.. But she was going to have to tell him soon..
Finally a few tears escaped from her eyes as she continued to watch the scenery.

He was impressed by how well crafted the white car he had been assigned to really was. Everything about the vehicle was classy and well polished. He was sure the machine had cost a fortune, but moey did not really seem to be a problem with the Buchanans. Just the feel of the wheel showed how expertly crafted the entire structure was. If anything, he was going to have some fun driving around in a rich man's car, even if as a simple chauffeur.
"Blue Lagoon? Understood, ma'am." he spoke in response with a rather calm tone, his eyes fixated on the road as he kept his compusure. The neighborhood was truly something to behold, and he was having his fun looking around and taking in the sight of everything around him. "Oh...and the surname would be McCopin. Dean McCoppin, ma'am." he added before he forgot to reply to her question, a playful grin on the corner of his lip as he continued to drive around.
The focus on the trip was cut ever so sligtly by expressions he caught sight of during the drive, making himself doubt if something was troubling the blonde woman. He had nothing to do with it, but he was having a hard time not looking at the mirror to see what was going on each time he saw some movement or heard some noise. She seemed rather indrawn in contrast to the yelling he had heard before and how confidently she had presented herself to him. It did not take him long to assume she probably had had something happening t her for such a change in behaviour.
Dean McCoppin had always been a rule breaker. He got into the force as a means to try and stop that behaviour, but he never did too good with authority. Whatever rules were set out for him to coply to and follow, he broke. It was like a forbidden fruit. This time, it was something far less serious, at least in his mind, but he was having a hard time not wondering what was wrong. Part of him wanted to slap himself in the head for getting into other people's business, but he figured it was his job.
Taking a deep sigh, he frowned while staring forward, his hands gripping the wheel when he noticed a more somber stance on the woman. He was going to mess up for sure.
"Is something wrong, ma'am?" he suddenly asked, cursing to himself for not knowing how to keep his mouth shut.

"Is something wrong, ma'am?"
Jenny jumped very slightly when she heard Dean ask her that question. It brought her out of her zone. She quickly wiped her eyes gently, making sure she did not mess any of her makeup. "It's nothing for you to be concerned with Mr. Mccoppin." She said before she sniffled a little bit and shook her head just slightly. Her composure seemed to fall a little bit before it went back up and she raised her head. Her blue eyes searched for something to comment on quickly though, not wanting the subject to linger for long.
"I need to get a hold of myself, can't let others see me like that.." She thought to herself before she took notice of how beautiful the sky looked this evening.
"Isn't it such a beautiful day? I've never seen the sky so blue so early in the summer." Jenny commented as a little smile formed on her lips. It was probably clear to the man that she was putting on a facade, but she didn't care at this point. The subject needed to be changed.
She was told all her life she must never be seen crying, and if she was she would have to change the subject, keep whoever saw it from making a comment. Though the man already made a comment, which meant she had to work on this a bit harder.
"The waterfront is going to look spectacular today." She continued as she continued to look at the bright blue sky.

Dean shrugged to himself when she pretty much told him to mind his own business. Well, he had been asking for it when he intruded, so he wouldn't hold it against her at all. He would have probably done the same to her were their roles reversed. She didn't owe him anything, after all. Whatever it was, it was up to her and he had nothing to do with it. It was his job to be nosy but this had nothing to do with it whatsoever.
Her remark made him blink before looking outside for a second from the corner of his eye, the night sky being rather gentle on him from the looks of things. She was right, it was clean and beautiful. Probably something to do with the place they were in. All was so well kept and tended, and Genevieve seemed to be no exception, unless one was to consider what she was hiding, though he had nothing to do with it.
"It's something, alright. Back where I come from, we used to look at stars during the summer. Because she lived in a coast city, we had a lot of nice sights, even if everything was small." he said in the form of small talk, aiding her in what was a hint for him to change the subject. He did not mind, seeing he had nothing to do with her problems, and did not mind thinking about the past. "Going up a hill and watching the night sky is something else. I'll have to try it some day."
The richer you are, the poorer you can get in other aspects, and Genevieve seemed to be lost in some sort of way. Whatever was going on, it probably had to do with the husband, judging by how she had looked at the car and how Mr Buchanan had avoided coming to get her himself or be present when she was to be picked up.

Jenny looked at Dean when he started to talk about his past. A small, genuine smile formed on her lips as she listened to him. "Your life sounded adorable." She laughed gently before she looked back out at the sky. He then spoke about how he would have to go on a hill and watch the night sky. "Oh, it's gorgeous.." She said with an almost unamused tone. She had about enough going up on the tall hills and watching the sky with James. The last time they were there James left abruptly and got someone to take her home. And she knew where he was going.
"If you had to go somewhere to watch the sky I'd recommend sitting at the lakefront and listen to the waves while you're at it. Much more nicer than the quiet that falls on the hills." Jenny continued as she remembered nothing but good times there with her family. If only she could go back to them, tell them what James was doing.. But none of them would care. They would just tell her to live with it, cause at least she is being taken care of. They would also tell her to mind her own business and not get into what James did behind her back. Cause he would tell her if it was important.
This thought caused her whole face to drop again. Again she now thought of how nobody would let her leave James now that she was pregnant. It would make her child a bastard if she did that... And she couldn't do that.
A sigh accidentally left her mouth as she looked down at her stomach.
"I'm sorry.." She whispered to her baby.

He smiled lightly at her remark before shrugging and looking at her through the car's mirror, his eyes lighting up with amusement. "Well, I wouldn't exactly call it adorable, but it was certainly fun. Not even a dull moment. What more can a guy ask?" he remarked to her in the form of a question, his fingers tapping on the wheel as he kept on driving. There was something cryptic about the way she spoke about places to go or look for. She had probably lived there her entire life, hence her knowledge. However, he could clearly notice that each place had a particular meaning for people, and some viewpoints in Gatsberry seemed to awaken different feelings for the lady sitting behind him. Some positive, others quite the opposite. It was like everything, but this woman seemed to be lost in ghosts of her past.
His expression lit up at the mention of a lakefront, which brought back nostalgic related feelings. Growing up in Rockwell, he tended to play around in the great lake, swimming as far as he could in the form of dares against his friends. Resting on the rocks or throwng stones as the water turned dark was something out of the blue and part of a childhood he sometimes missed. "I'll have to keep that in mind. I like a nice place to relax like the next man." he mused, looking over at her as he slowed the vehicle down when the road became less steady.
He raised an eyebrow before looking over his driver's seat, an ar around the seat itself while he looked at the blonde lady once more, still amazed at how well she prepared herself for the evening. Everything on point, everything well trimmed and touched. She was almost scultural, and yet there was a tragic like element to her. It did feel as if she was missing an important piece of her, which made him feel all the more curious. "Say, ma'am. Your husband told me to get you there by ten. As far as I'm concerned, there are still a good forty five minutes before that. Are you sure you don't want to stop for some air? You look like you could use a few minutes."
He was a driver, not a confidante, that much was certain. He had noticed how drivers oftenly helped people vent about their issues, with sometimes positive results. Jenny looked like she was not ready to go meet up with her husband at all, and if she were to show up in such a depressive state, Dean kind of assumed he would be paid far less. Who knew if he could be blamed for her current state?
He asked little questions and complied with his simple orders, but something did sound a bit off about Mister Buchanan. He was also instructed to take care of his wife, so he assumed he could give her some time to compose herself. It was not like he was breaking any rules. If anything, he was doing his job.

Jenny looked up a little when Dean asked about her once more, causing her to bite her bottom lip a little. Her face had faltered again, didn't it? She cursed to herself before she listened to his question. She looked out of the window to think about it for a bit. It wasn't exactly a bad idea.. Plus she'd be able to calm herself so she could have a nice evening. They weren't going to be late if they pulled over to have a quick breather. After all she did leave in a hurry. She bit her bottom lip once more before she finally gave up.
She nodded and looked at Dean, "I do in fact need some air, so please pull over at the next stop. It has a beautiful view of the waterfront over there. It'd be the perfect place to relax," she stated as she smiled at the man, "thank you." Jenny smiled as he drove to the next stop she talked about.
Once they were there Dean got out of the car and opened the door for her. She gracefully got out of the car and walked forward to a nearby bench. Just like she thought not a lot of people were out here at this time of day. Everyone was at parties in the houses nearby. She gently leaned against the bench and tilted her head back. Her hair fell behind her, exposing her slender neck and shoulders. The air felt nice this evening and she could already feel her worries starting to slip away.
"It's amazing tonight.." Jenny whispered out before she raised her head to look at Dean. "May I have one of your cigarettes please? That way we can relax together before you are forced to wait all evening for my husband and I?" She asked as her hands held tightly onto the back of the bench.

She surprised him when she accepted his suggestion. He tended to talk too much when he was not entirely comfortable about a setting, and he would have understood if she had told him to shut up or leave her alone. Much to his shock, she agreed with him. She did look like she needed a breath of fresh hair and to relax. Sometimes some privacy could prove to be the greatest medicine for anxiety. A few minutes out in the open would help her for sure.
He walked behind her, keeping his safe distance and respecting her space, lighting up a cigarette to relax a bit himself as he watched the waterfront in front of them. His eyes narrowed as he inhaled the deep smell of tobacco into his lungs, he let himself take the sight in and get some comfort from the fact that there could be some normality in Gatsberry. Also some nice places to relax. He would be sure to come back here whenever he had the time and there were few people around.
His focus was broken when Jenny asked him for a cigarette, amusement in his face as he pulled out one from his pack and handed it over to her, a playful grin on his lips. "I would never peg you for one who enjoyed smoking. Too nice looking for that." he teased in a playful manner before sitting next to her. He was particularly close to her now, but it was alright, it would be quick.
As soon as she had the cigarette between her lovely colored lips, Dean picked up a match, firmly lighting it up and smiling as the small flame was born on the tip of the little stick. Gently holding it close to the tip of Jenny's cigarette, he nodded. "You can inhale now. Try and relax a bit."
Sure, he was close to her, but he was not having any sort of idea. At least, he would not consider it seriously. He surely didn't mind getting a very close look at the sculpture like blonde, the glow of her eyes and glistening blonde hair being undeniably beautiful. Yet, he knew their places and would really hate for her to get the wrong idea.

Daisy was a bit taken aback of the amusement on Dean's face when he pulled out the cigarette. She took it from him and immediately smirked a little at the grin on his lips. She hadn't meant to smirk, but the way he looked at her made her falter a bit. "I'm not one to smoke, but there are times where I have to.. Today is unfortunately one of those days." She said before she placed it between her lips and held it there as he lit it. She inhaled and before she grabbed it by her two fingers and removed it from her mouth.
Jenny let out a breath, letting the smoke gently fly away from her mouth. She didn't look at Dean as she did this one more time, wanting to relax before she continued any type of conversation with him. She didn't even mind when he sat close to her. As long as he wasn't trying to touch her she'd be fine. Plus she always loved it when handsome men like himself sat close to her. Made her feel safe, and because of his build she felt even more safe.
She took another puff before she looked at the man.
"I'm sorry for being so tense. There is a horrible situation going on between my husband and I. It has left me feeling very stressed." She sighed as she put the cigarette back into her mouth, inhaling and then blowing out the air gently. "He is mostly bringing me to this place so he can get my forgiveness. Which is starting to be tiring, especially when he keeps having to be sorry." She spoke as she looked at the water now.
Though it didn't take her long to realize she now just vented to the man, causing her to bite her bottom lip.
"Sorry, I usually do not talk about my personal matters.. But for some reason, tonight seems like the night I have to let them out." She admitted as she relaxed a bit more. "Plus you seem like someone who wouldn't judge someone for venting." She said, giving him a little compliment.

He raised his eyebrow, his expression lighting up once he saw the smirk suddenly escape Jenny's lips, finally being graced with something heartfelt from the mesmerizing blonde. "See? That's more like it. I was wondering when I'd see a nice smile like that today." he joked a bit, aware that his sense of humor was kind of dry and coy, but it seemed to have gotten a positive reaction out of Jenny, which he would take as something good for the time being. She seemed far more relaxed now, seeing how expertly she maneuvered the cigarette and smoked it with utmost grace.
"You do it like a pro, assuming it barely happens." he mentioned once again, a playful smile on his lips as he watched her smoke before turning his eyes away from her. He was close to her, and he would be lying if he said it was not hard to stop and stare at the gorgeous blonde sitting next to him. There was something about that aura of passion and inner sadness radiating from her blue eyes that dragged him in closer to her. Besides, she seemed to need a little space.
Placing his own cigarette between his lips once again, Dean looked forward, resting his elbows on his knees and his chin on his free hand, taking his sweet time to listen to the nature around them and to exhale light clouds of smoke, their tones of gray fading away in the sunlight. Surely enough, she had started talking, more than what he was expecting, if he could say so himself.
The driver had not expected her to vent about her feelings and frustrations to him, especially about what were marital crisis. He should have known, considering the signs that were now abundantly clear: the perfectly polished white car, the demand for Jenny's best dress, the punctuality demanded out of them, the choice of such a new and glamorous restaurant. It was the classic story of overcompensating. He could only wonder just what in the world James Buchanan could have done to annoy his wife like that. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, Dean remembered hearing his father say.
Finishing his cigarette, he tossed it away, lifting his head and expelling smoke one last time before looking back at the blonde woman, shaking his head a bit after she had finished speaking. "Don't worry about it. I like to think I'm a good listener." he admitted with a sympathetic smile before getting up, giving her some more space. "You still have time, so relax, alright?"
Walking forward, he slid his hands into his pockets, standing in front of her as he eyed the water in front of them, enjoying the view and giving Jenny time to compose herself and relax.

Jenny only smiled at his little comments about her smile and how she smoked like a pro. It was nice to hear a compliment from someone other than her husband and his friends. She wanted to thank him, but she felt something catch in her throat which made her keep her mouth closed as she took another puff of her cigarette.
"Don't worry about it. I like to think I'm a good listener."
Those words surprised her. She really thought he was going to tell her to not speak in public about such things.. Even though she had told him she wasn't someone who judges, she still kind of expected it. After all it wasn't the first time she trusted someone and they threw it back into her face. This made her stare at him in a bit of shock as he got up and walked off.
She finished her cigarette and threw it away as well. Her blue eyes not leaving the back of his head. She then took a look over him, taking every inch of him in. He was definitely not a bad looking man, he was certainly blessed with his looks. He also seemed to not stay by the book. Nobody in their right mind would let her act like how she was acting. But he, he didn't care, he just brushed it off like it was a normal thing.
Something she was wanting at this time.
Blue eyes stared at the man for a little bit longer before they went to the water and stared. She let herself calm down and gain her composure back. It took a couple of minutes, but she was able to go back to normal. She looked up at the clock that was a bit far from them. There was only twenty more minutes which made her frown, but unlike a couple of minutes ago Jenny was ready to face her husband.
Jenny sighed and stood up and fixed her dress. She placed on hand on her hip as the other hand held up her dress a little. "Well Mr. Mccoppin I think it's time we get going. I really don't want my husband to duct any pay from you." Jenny said as she smiled at him.

He had been lost in his little trail of thoughts for a while before he heard the feminine voice shoot up from behind him. She sounded much calmer than before, which was a plus. He'd had his nice break, and she'd relaxed. It seemed like a win-win situation in his eyes. At least, he wouldn't have to worry about James Buchanan complaining about having his wife upset during their glamorous date. As a plus, he felt good about himself, which was always important.
"As you wish, ma'am." Turning around, he was slightly surprised to see her standing up already, graciously holding herself in an endearing stance, as he assumed would be normal for her. Her smile was still in place, too, and boy did he like the sight of it. Genevieve Buchanan was a true lady to behold, and Dean could not say he was not enjoying his time.
Smiling in the corner of his lip, ever as mischievous and playful, he nodded at his employer's wife, fixing his sleeves up to look more proper and walking up to the car to help the golden haired beauty in. "Call me Dean, alright? Mister McCoppin makes me feel like I'm a grandpa." he said in a playful tone before closing the door and walking to the driver's seat to start up the car.
