"Do not offer me love? For a Harlot that doesn't exist."

The town was filled with life, music blasted through the air, joy showed on every face, laughter echoed through the conversations. It was as if it was complete euphoria - All because of the biggest party of the night. It was the topic of the town for some, The Moonlight Lounge Grand Opening! The title stayed in her thoughts for a moment and she walked down the street. She fixed her dress, making sure nothing was wrong with it. She took it from the last man she met up with. She didn't feel guilty that he had a wife - she felt like she hit the jackpot! He was wealthy and bought his wife everything. While he was passed out she took her pick of an outfit.
She wrapped the fur shawl around her, feeling the warmth of it on her face. She peaked at her dress again and chuckled. She never wore white a lot but I guess tonight was a special occasion. She walked up to the entrance and peaked at a man. She couldn't help but smile and wink. It was only her nature to become flirtatious in this environment. It was like hunting ground for her, more wealthy victims. She headed down the stairs looking around at the place, the atmosphere was wild and free, music moving through people's bodies. She knew she was going to fit in, "Just my kind of party!" She grinned and began walking around waving occasionally, catching people's eyes/attention here and there. Wonder who I will bump into?
Shawl. Dress.

Korso placed his face in his palm as Aria repeated his long forgotten words. "That's my baby," he said, smiling as he rub her head. "Although, no guys are gonna come up to ya as long as you're with me. People say I can tend to me a little, hmmm, intemidating, heh-heh-heh."
He placed a hand on her back to reassure her. "Feel free to find a table and relax. I'll have the chef cook you up your favorite."
His eyes caught the sight of the Aurora walking pass them. "I'll be here, enjoying the sight, ya know," he said with a cunning smile. His eyes shot back to the entrance. "Gotta watch out for snakes too..." he thought. That's when Elias walked up, acknowledging Aria's presense: “You doing alright miss Aria?”
Korso surprised him with a firm handshake. "Not goin' to ask me how I'm doin'?" he laughed as he dusted a yarn thread off his shoulder. "Lookin' good my man, who you tryin' to impress, huh?" ----- Elias wouldn’t miss this for the world, not when his boss was opening a speakeasy and not when Lottie was singing. She had a good voice, he knew that from experience. Took a lot to throw that pretty voice out. He adjusted his suit, which he hadn’t used since his wedding and thus felt a bit uncomfortable in, and walked around looking at things. He paused when he saw the youngest daughter of Korso, alone, and walked over to her. “You doing alright miss Aria?” he asked. ----- Aurora chuckled as she noticed John's eye on her, than him looking away and joking about the view, she had to look good, kinda her job. And the fact she was Korso's entertainer. She walked up to him a gave his cheek a poke, "Missed me hot shot?" She said jokingly, giving him a slight wink. Than as Elias talked to Aria, causing Aurora to chuckle. "Hey, how are ya'?" She looked over at Elias with a smirk and nearly laughed at Korso giving the ' firm - handshake ' surprise! It was funny to her, than again. She made sure most things were. Aria closed her eyes when Korso rubbed her head. She was glad her hair wouldn't get messed up easily, or else she would be swatting his hand away. She then laughed at him talking about how other people found him intimidating. "I can't imagine why," She said slyly before she watched a waiter with a martini walk to them and offer them some drinks. Aria, loving the olives that came with the martini, gently took one. She took a sip, loving the flavor of the olives mixing with the alcohol. "Please do, I am starving a little and I haven't ate that long ago." Aria said, letting her father know how much her nerves had acted up. She then watched a curly blonde haired girl walk passed them as well as her father looking after. This made her frown at him. "She looks half your age," Aria stated before taking another sip of her drink. Then Elias walked up and asked her how she was doing. This made her a bit surprise to see one of her father's men walk up to her when next to her father. They usually left her alone. Elias once again had impressed her. He had impressed her many times he came in her shop for flowers. But this took a new surprise. Though before she could reply, her dad spoke before complimenting him. "I am fine Elias, as you know I am not a fan of huge crowds, but thank you for asking. It's a pleasure to see you tonight," Aria said, showing off her manners. She then lifted her hand up for him to kiss, but she was gagging internally. She hated having to shove her hand up to him. But her Dad would kill her if she didn't do it. Then Aria heard Aurora speak back to Korso, causing her to look at the blonde. Her emerald eyes gazed at her with a bit of judgement. She really didn't like it when women flirted with her father in front of her. As she had no idea Aurora was his entertainer. Elias was a bit surprised with the handshake, but responded with a firm one of his own and a faint smile. "I figured it would only be polite to address your daughter first. Ladies first, as they say. But it's good to see you sir" he chuckled. "No-one special, just coming out to celebrate the party and get into the business of living again, if you know what I mean" When Korso became preoccupied with the blond Elias turned his attention back to Aria and smiled. "I prefer quiet places myself" he agreed. "But I couldn't resist a party. I needed a night off" he chuckled again and nodded. "A pleasure to see you as well, Miss Aria" he took her hand and brushed his lips across her knuckles. "I hope the evening goes well"

I've found a new family. And here, it's all for one and....

Post by Artemis Kesley on Jun 20, 2017 16:27:52 GMT -6
Artemis couldn't help but smirk as her suspicions were confirmed. There he was, red hair and all, Peter had made an entrance into this party. Judging by the company he was keeping, a boy with coal black hair and a very very familiar young blonde girl, this party was suddenly more interesting. "Oh this is going to be very fun." she told herself, trying to make eye contact with Lacie. Artemis almost laughed as she overheard the black haired boy practically proclaiming his presence to the man at the door. This guy was too much. She rolled her eyes as the door guard tried to make sense of the whole situation. good luck with that she thought. Well now that those three were here Artemis could only imagine the trouble they were going to get into. She was grateful she'd left her purse at home, that way there was nothing with her one of them could swipe. An idea popped into her head and rather than consider it as a bad idea, like it probably was, she decided to act on it. Casually she made her way up to Peter, fixing him with the most innocent look she could muster and smiled at him. "Wanna dance, cutie?"

When am I ever serious?

Post by Al Cellini on Jun 20, 2017 16:32:25 GMT -6
Al was already stealing a drink, chugging it down and walking back over to Peter and Lacie. He was in such a bubbly and playful mood now! Alcohol always had its ways with Al. Most of the times it never ended up good. He stared down at Lacie and didn't know what Peter questioned her about but didn't mind. He looked around and took another beverage finishing that one down too. His attitude changed even more and he seemed to be having the giggles. He turned to Peter and said, "Peter, I want to dance." He then looked at Lacie and said, "Do you want too? Because I want too!" He playfully did a shimmy towards him. The alcohol was already starting to show in his system.
Al put a hand up, above his eyes, looking around like he was scouting the place and trying to focus. His focus landed on a girl with bold green eyes. They were the biggest doe like eyes he has ever spotted. There was a woman approaching up to them asking Peter to dance but he couldn't worry about that right now. He turned to Peter and grabbed him turning him into the direction of the girl. He pointed and said, "Who is that!?" Al, never cared for Korso so he never knew his family. He would've been shocked if he knew the girl was his daughter. he noticed a girl ask Peter to dance but took his attention.
He looked at Peter and said, "The raven haired girl with the doe eyes." Al looked at him and then said, "I want to get her to dance with me!" He grinned big, biting his lip some. He stared at Peter and said, "I'm gonna go for it but I need your help." He tugged at Peter's arm and was heading in her direction.
It was bizarre how Al was with women. He clearly admired them and appreciated them. He appreciated their beauty and style. He would always want to be around them but never pursue a relationship. He knew why but he would never share his secret. I guess you could say, He was an odd one.

Elias was a bit surprised with the handshake, but responded with a firm one of his own and a faint smile. "I figured it would only be polite to address your daughter first. Ladies first, as they say. But it's good to see you sir" he chuckled. "No-one special, just coming out to celebrate the party and get into the business of living again, if you know what I mean" Korso gave a light back hand to his chest. "You an' me both," he said with a smile. He watched as two young men, Peter and Al, strolled in with wide eyes and big smiles. He nudged his head in their direction. "We gotta be more bold and spirited like them, eh?" He faced the ballroom and pointed to the party inside. "Now, Elias, I better catch your ass havin' a good time in there, you deserve it, ya here?"With a pat on Elias' back, his attention was drawn to Miss Harris' arrival, followed by the easier-on-the-eyes Asami, Millie, and Chel. Then came Salvatore, who made his way straight for the bar. "It's hard for me to take it easy when there are so many new faces 'round here." He was itching for his cigar, a remedy for his nerves. That's when he noticed Aria's absence. "What the- Where'd she-?" he asked aloud, searching the crowd.

Lacie glanced around the lounge. It was fancy; really fancy, definitely to showboat the fact that Don Korso was really rich and liked to flaunt it. The whole sight of it was pretty, Lacie thought to herself, her eyes settling on a familiar blonde girl across the room who seemed to be intent on making eye contact with her. Lacie squinted slightly, trying to place the girl's face, before her attention was pulled to Peter when he cleared his throat. She looked up at him from her current place on his arm and gave a mischievous grin. "This rich girl in some nice neighborhood," she replied just as quietly. "The family had tons of nice clothes they don't wear, they wouldn't miss a couple of things."
The statement wasn't entirely untrue. She and her grandpa did have a bunch of nice clothes. She had too many dresses to count, and while Papa didn't have as many clothes as he bought her, he still had a significant ensemble in his closet. When he asks why she spent money on a suit that wasn't around, she would just tell him she wanted to surprise him but gave the wrong size to the nanny, so she just gave it to some fella down on his luck.
Suddenly, Al was back, and he was tipsy. Lacie had virtually no time to try to formulate any sort of response, because the Goof was all over the place, asking them to dance, interrupting the blonde girl who had asked Peter to dance... Lacie blinked and suddenly Peter was gone from her grip; Al and Peter were both off chasing some pretty girl. Or rather, Al was dragging Peter with him while he chased some girl.
"Oh boy," she giggled, putting her hand to her mouth to stifle it. Al was after Aria Marcello of all people. Guess he really did have a death wish. With a small sigh, Lacie looked back to the taller blonde. Realization hit her and she grinned, her voice just loud enough for her to hear her. "You look nice tonight, Arty."

Lacie turned her attention towards Peter, whispering back as well. "This rich girl in some nice neighborhood. The family had tons of nice clothes they don't wear, they wouldn't miss a couple of things."
A rich kid in the area, huh? he thought as he shrugged his shoulders, giving her a quick nod of approval. He didn't have any reason to doubt her: she had gotten the clothing so far, and things were looking good. All Peter had to do now was make his way casually around the lounge and snip money or accessories off of unguarded people as they passed by or chatted the night away. He could already see quite a few people getting tipsy at the bar, including...
Peter groaned at the sight of the raven-haired lad downing drink after drink at one of the bars that surrounded the room. Ya have'ta get drunk now of all times, Coal Bin? he scoffed, knowing full well how Al behaved when intoxicated. Al must have noticed them staring for he came back to the two of them, smelling like rich alcohol.
"Peter, I want to dance," he slurred out, turning towards Lacey. "Do you want too? Because I want too!" He continued to look around the place like he was on some kind of hunt while Peter rolled his eyes.
"As much as I'd love ta, Coal Bin, we go' a job to do," he replied to the lad with a smirk. Suddenly, he caught movement out of the corner of his eye and turned to see a blonde-haired girl in a blue and silver flapper dress looking right at him as she casually moved to stand next to him, Al, and Lacie.
"Wanna dance, cutie?" she asked, her eyes looking right at Peter. He raised an eyebrow in surprise.
Well this is new, he thought. He never had people come up to talk to him, let alone call him a 'cutie' of all things or ask him to dance. Not exactly the kind of thing a rag-a-muffin ever was told. But hey! He didn't mind it; he was up for some entertainment.
He slowly fixed his expression into one of playful amusement, giving the girl a wink as he spoke. "Only if ya can keep up wi' me-," he said before he was suddenly cut off by Al grabbing his arm, turning him around to face the direction of the dining tables with his finger pointed at one girl in particular.
"Who is that!?" he asked in a voice much louder than Peter would have liked. "The raven haired girl with the doe eyes."
Peter nearly choked on his own spit from laughter as he realized who Al was pointing to. "Tha' be Aria Marcello. As in THE Marcello's," he said with an amused expression. "How'dya not know who she is?"
Al merely looked at him, continuing to ramble. "I want to get her to dance with me!"
Peter could feel eyes starting to move towards their location, and he sighed, shaking his head at Al. "No' a good idea, Coal Bin. Ya're gonna- hey!" He couldn't finish his sentence as suddenly he was being dragged away from Lacie and the mysterious girl towards Aria's table by the Idiot of the Night.
Grea', Peter thought as he rolled his eyes. He's walkin' righ' into the snake pit. And now Imma have ta bail 'im out.

((OOC: Korso and Aria can't post right now because of a power outage EDIT: THEY CAN POST FOR NOW))
Charlotte was done for the moment. She was able to take a short break allowing her to rest her voice and get a drink. She slipped onto the floor and sat down at the bar. She signaled to the bartender silently so no one would know what she was dinking. After all she couldn't let people know she was drinking. All the law abiding citizens would raise hell, well the cops anyway.
She took her drink sipping it lightly as she walked around the lounge. She turned and accidentally bumped into someone. Charlotte turned looking at the girl she bumped into. The other girl was a cute little red head. She had a lovely purple dress and hate.
"Hello there Dear. I'm Charlotte Marcello." Charlotte said with a wide smile before taking a small sip of her drink. She was trying very heard not to drink to much. She didn't want to start grabbing at people.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cale finally was able to make it to Don Korso and waited for his men to let him through. "Don Korso." Cale greeted giving the appropriate respect. "I just wanted to congratulate you on this wonderful opening and the beauty of this place. It's truly wonderful." He told the older man politely.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ray walked around the dance floor. He watched little princess Aria move to speak to her father before heading down to the main room. He watched as she spoke to Korso's Cleaner and watched her move around. He kept wanting to go up to her for a dance but he felt waiting was the best option at the moment.

Al couldn't help but focus on her - everything that Peter had said didn't even process. I don't even think Al was really listening. He was to focused on what he wanted. He continued to walk over and was about to be next to her. He peaked back at Peter and said nervously, "What do I even say to her? I never talked to fancy girls? Are they different than us?" Al was so out of his league at the moment and I feel like he fully realized it. He was panicking a little bit and was trying to calm his nerves.
He continued to drag Peter and then made his way to the dining hall. He wasn't even thinking about what Peter could be feeling at the moment, he was on a mission.
The dining hall was huge but beautiful. He did feel out of place some - considering he's never been to an event like this. He smiled as he thought, I guess that's why they call it acting, I get to pretend to fit in. He spotted what she was drinking. Al thought to himself, martini. He then began to run over to grab a martini. It couldn't just be any simple martini. He needed it to be beautiful. He looked at the bartender and said, "Can you make it look fancy, please? I'm trying to impress someone here." He tilted his head and a thought raced through his mind. He then said, "Give me a strawberry!" The bartender gave him one and he sliced it and put it on the edge.
Al looked at the martini and said, "Now that's cute!" He raised his eyebrows at the bartender and laughed some. He began walking over to Aria. He could tell she was a little tense, it made him curious why she was that way, did something bother her? He kind of wanted to try his best to cheer her up and make her focus on something different - whatever was bothering her.
He smiled and took a deep breathe and then sat down where she is and said, "Excuse me, darling! I couldn't help but be taken back by your gorgeous dress and just had to compliment it! Great taste." He grinned staring at her and then tilted his head, he peaked back at Peter and said, "I'm Al and that is Peter, my best man! I call him my gingersnap." Al became a little playful but he smiled at her and then said, "And whatever could your name be?" Al, slid the martini towards her as a kind offer, hoping that she would like it and then waited for her response. He couldn't lie to himself, she was beautiful. He was curious to know who this precious girl could be.

Artemis had made a mistake. It was in trusting her ability to keep a straight face when she went to confront Peter. Well not so much confront, more like casually flirting. However she almost lost her composure and began laughing as Peter's face shifted into one of playful amusement. What was worse was the fact he winked at her! Was he trying to flirt back? Or was he just trying to get close enough to see if he could swipe anything off her. He'd probably be disappointed, she didn't have anything he could steal. Thankfully and unfortunately she was stopped from further flirting by the return of Peter and Lacie's very drunk companion. He was going on and on about the very beautiful Aria. Before any of them could react the black haired boy had dragged Peter off. Artemis shot him a look of mock sadness and sympathy. "I'll save you a dance!" She called after him. Oh this was far too entertaining. With the boys gone that left Artemis and Lacie standing next to each other. "That boy is going to get himself killed by the end of the night." She remarked dryly.
"You look nice tonight, Arty." she glanced down at her friend and the grin returned. "Why thank you Lacie. Judging by your company I think it's safe to say your grandfather is unaware of where you are right now. Whoever the black haired boy is he's gonna probably get himself killed if he tries flirting with Aria. Peter's going to have to rescue him somehow." There was a hint of amusement in her voice. She could intervene if she really felt like it, but this was proving to be far too entertaining.

Aria finished eating her steak when a butler came and removed it from her. He then gave her another Martini. Aria was grateful she was not a light weight. She could hold her alcohol. Though she still didn't like to drink too much, so she stirred it for now. She needed a small break. So while she stirred her drink, she watched the guests talk and mingle. Some even ate the most expensive thing on the menu, while others ate the cheapest. It was either be low or go high it appeared. But none of them would be able to eat the meal she just had. Nothing would be as good.
Though she felt herself freeze when she noticed the man from the cafe. Her eyes widened a little and she felt a little blush on her cheeks at she stared at the man. She had saw him a couple of times. Some were in the same cafe, and some were where she just saw him working. And the way he had worked reminded her of Dante worked with her Dad. It intrigued her so. Maybe she should say hi?
That thought was quickly blown out of the window when a raven haired man sat next to her. Causing her to jump slightly as her big emerald eyes stared at him in shock.
"Excuse me, darling! I couldn't help but be taken back by your gorgeous dress and just had to compliment it! Great taste. "I'm Al and that is Peter, my best man! I call him my gingersnap. And whatever could your name be?"
The male then slid the Martini to her. This made her look at the one she already had before back at the one he gave her. This one had a strawberry. This made her a bit curious, she never had a strawberry in a martini. She looked back up at the male who was now cheekfully smiling at her. She stared at him in confusion, but she also stared at him with curiousity. Aria liked it when a man came to her, but that was only because he didn't know who she was.
A smirk turned on her lips as she raised her head at him. "Well Mr. Cellini, I am Korso's youngest daughter, Aria Marcello," She said as she took a sip of the drink her gave her.. Yeah, she liked olives better. "So with that information, let's see how long you're going to stay," Aria said with some slyness. She wondered if this was going to be one of those men that ran away from her in fear. She wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. If it wasn't the case, she'd give him a dance.

Post by Cruella de Vil on Jun 20, 2017 18:38:18 GMT -6
She had noticed the greenish puff of smoke before she heard the voice. She smiled, and for the first time in a while, it was not forceful and it was a relief to have her cheeks not hurt as she pushed them back in the motion. Alexandria spun on her heels to face Cruella and eyed her in with friendly, but slightly mocking eyes. "It's more than you can manage."She understood why one might not like Cruella, but she always had. The woman had helped her once, actually getting her to where she was at that point in her life, and she had liked her different manners. And unique, powerful woman that, yes, people should be afraid of sometimes. But she was fun, specially when she started getting riled up about her old days and not very useful life advice came out of her mouth with the usual dear at the end. Alex led her glass to her bottom lip, not to drink, but to have it sit there as she looked up at Cruella. Let her talk first. Shouldn't go around and be rude, end up with two big blurs of white having a too loud discussion. It had happened before. Cruella clicked her tongue upon Alexandria's remark, tilting her head to the side with some boredom stamped across it. Eventually, she let out a dry chuckle, nearly devoid of soul or any other regular emotion. She was not one who particularly enjoyed jokes at her expense, but for some reason, she tended to make Alex an exception. The bizarre young girl had proven herself to be quite an asset during the time she had worked for the former starlet, and indeed was someone she came to find to be a good worker, not to mention witty in the way she talked. Cruella herself was far out of the ordinary when it came to her outward appearance, so she was definitely more accepting of the peculiar or at least the uncommon, such as what Alex was, religously and...well, physically. In some ways, she had even thought of using the girl's odd condition and a means of expanding a new line of work. "So I see you have come here to grace the world with your presence too, yes? Or perhaps you came to get another glimpse of me." she bragged, holding her furcoat closer with a presumptuos smile, taking another deep puff of her long cigarette before exhaling the trademark green smoke she had come to be known for. "Even so, I have to say this is not half disappointing. I suppose we could get more lively, but what can I say? People are not as lively as they once were..."
Her smirk grew a bit upon noticing a familiar face on the distance, in the form of her newest assistant, whose fashion sense was severely bothering her. She understood the girl was going through heavy dificulties money wise, but lack of style was always grating to her. She would have to aid the girl in getting something more prim and pretty next time. "Alexandria, my dear." she suddenly muttered, pointing at the girl. "That young lady happens to serve me now, you see? Be a pet and get her so we can give her some decent company. Lord knows she needs to flesh herself out and I need to see something amusing." she mentioned with a shrug.

"No man is an island."

Post by Dean McCoppin on Jun 20, 2017 18:44:50 GMT -6
She had gotten used to have things ripped out of her hands by Dean. This time she sighed as she saw him take a puff out of their shared Camel, a habit they've developed since he had once complained about money and she had responded with thinking she smoked too much. "Win, win", was what he'd said. She was never winning anything. She'd made him take off his coat in order to be at the same level as the man. She did stay on her feet for a while, eyeing everyone, but she felt even more out of place being next to someone sitting at her feet, and she was not in any way, going to sit down on the dirty floor. So she laid down his overcoat at was comfortably resting her feet. She had told him she had no clothes to wear to this kind of event, but she was trying to get out of it, really. Her red dress had turned out to be just the right amount of fancy for the situation, with her slightly furry black cape warming the open back of the garment before they went inside. Though she had refused to keep the headpiece once Dean had laughed at it, claiming it was fine nonetheless. She'd stuffed it into one of his oevercoat's pockets and simply kept her hair up. "What are we waiting for anyway?" she groaned, really wanting to go inside and get a drink. Dean raised his hand as he took yet another puff from the cigarette taken from her. Things tasted better when they belonged to someone else, it seemed. He could not help but grin as he rose to his feet, stretching out a bit before yawning and passing Evelyn her cigarette. Tilting his head to the side with a mischievous smile, he shrugged. "Don't get me wrong, but I'm not particularly interested about being surrounded by rich pricks just yet."
His hands being shoved deep into his fancy black trousers' pockets, Dean leaned his head back, taking a deep breath before shaking his head. He was being slightly unfair for denying Evie the party he had forced her to come to, so he deduced he should make an effort for her sake at least. "Alright, alright, let's go grab a drink. Last one to finish the cigarette pays , though." he jested, pointing at her cigarette, almost burned to its opposite tip before walking past her. Nudging the shoulder of one of the young men welcoming the guests to the party, the mob offered his arm to Evelyn, tilting his head to the side while looking at his librarian friend. "Would you honor me as my company or are we going in as poor lonely souls, this evening?"

Al noticed how she was curious with the martini and smiled. He tried his best to make it presentable for her. He didn't know if it was good or not and then said, "Warning, that martini is just for show. I have no idea how it tastes." He made it known it was like a gift. He didn't really have anything that was lovely to offer her. He became a little curious because a smirk appeared on her face. It threw him off a little bit and made him wonder what could be going through her mind. He widened his eyes when she told him that information and it slightly made him cringe. H thought to himself that he couldn't run now. He had to keep it together - his heart was racing fast in his chest. He kept it together on the outside but on the inside it was like he was screaming. He ran a hand through his hair, shaking his wavy-curls, and then smiled at her, "That is a lovely name. I've heard a lot about your father." Al smiled with his compliment. It didn't mean he heard good things though. He kept himself together and then said, "Are you trying to scare me off? Usually, men would flee after hearing his name?"
He raised an eyebrow and plopped his head on his hand. He peaked back at Peter and then said, "Thankfully, I think I am feeling quite bold tonight." He turned back to Aria giving all of his attention to her and said, "I think i'll be staying. I was wanting to ask for a dance?" He smiled and said, "I'll even get you another martini if you want a regular one, truth is I didn't really know what to get ya." He was being honest. It was true that he really didn't know what to get for people on these types of occasions.
He seemed a little bit hopeful, he was hoping he didn't blow it like he usually does. He stayed calm and remained patient waiting for the response he would get from her. He didn't even want to know what was going through Peter's mind. He felt if he looked back to see Peter nervous he would lose it.
